Projector For Small Room

thanks for the post this morning.

just to start, great to get a Cinema room, well done! The screen in your pic looks like a 4:3 ratio screen, which may suit the shape of the room, but most PJ's now are 16:9 ratio so it may limit your final picture size a bit.

I'm not sure how or where you hope to mount the PJ but it would be really helpful to get the actual screen size so we can do the calc for you if you were set on having the PJ at 10 feet from the screen (initially looking at it, it looks like this may limit your PJ choice a little as many PJ's will project quite a large image at 10ft /approx 3 meters)

Other helpful info would be, a rough budget..

I would have a couple of suggestions, I have a Samsung LFF3 that I use all the time - it is a similar form factor to your existing PJ but it is really well built and the picture quality (and actually the built in sound!) is excellent - it's at a great price at the moment, only issue is I think that your throw ratio may be too far for the existing sceen - check it out here

Tackling the issue from a different angle I also use an Optoma Photon PH31UST - this is an (UST) ultra short throw PJ, meaning that it sits just centimetres away from the screen and projects a huge image - I would say that again I think you would probably ideally change your existing screen for a 16:9 screen tho' and ideally if you were using a UST PJ you should look at a Tab tensioned screen - check out the Optoma Photon 31UST here:
