Bizarre conflict between Sky 1Gbs hub + SkyQ box and TP Link Deco Mesh network

Just changed over to Sky 1Gbs internet (using Virgin Fibre) and it was a bizarre struggle to get it to work reliably with a TP Link Deco XE75 mesh system we have in the house.

Best I can tell the root of the conflict is on 5GHz wifi channel number 36. This conflict tanks the Deco network and causes wifi speeds to drop from 800Mbs+ to 20Mbs. Naturally I tried to turn off wifi in the Sky hub but it turns itself back on whenever I power up the SkyQ box we use to watch TV. This happens even if the SkyQ box is connected to the Deco network. Once it detects a SkyQ box on the network the sky modem is determined to enable its own wifi.

Luckily our modem and our TV are in the same room so I was able to plug the SkyQ into the modem via ethernet. This seems to resolve the conflict for the moment. NB you need to go into skyQ settings and specifically tell it to use ethernet rather than wifi. If they were in different rooms I don't know how we could fix it.

TLDR: SKY internet hub + Sky Q box causes conflict with Deco Mesh system on 5Ghz Wifi channel 36.
