New property tax valuation. Do I pay now

I'm a self employed tradesman and I've always paid my yearly property tax just before I pay my income tax. Just so I'm not late and get the x-amount penalty for late payments.

Whats with this new tax valuation I have to do online for revaluing my home. I've seen up to 3k fines being mentioned if it's not done by Friday. Is it possible I can revalue my home on the revenue site but still not pay my property tax until October next year like I do every year?.

    The deadline is for valuation

You can continue to pay the same way you always did.

Check Revenue.ie LPT section for options.

Go onto the LPT website, login with your property ID and pin, select the current valuation band, choose your payment option.

Whilst your valuation will have jumped since the last time you did it, the chances are you are still in the same band, so cost will be similar to last year.

I don't think there was ever an option to pay a year in arrears. You can pay immediately, set up a single payment to come out at the end of March or monthly payment from January.

ALL info is on their website https://www.revenue.ie/en/property/local-property-tax/paying-your-lpt/index.aspx

Every year I don't pay mine untill October. It's 2025 I just paid but it's asking me to pay the 2026 which I was hoping to leave until next October just before I will be paying this years income tax.

I just set mine as direct deduction from my pay. Easier that way so I both a) never see the money anyway and b) dont have to worry about filling in a form or paying manually each year. Of course this year I had to do the valuation.

    Payment Service Provider

AFAIK they charge an admin fee on top of the tax amount.

When I was re-assessing for 2026-2030 like the rest of the country and had finished I found the payment page/ section hard to understand. Up to now I paid, in full, in December for the following year but I didn't see that anywhere when I came to the payment options and so ended up paying, in full, the other day.

As for asking queries, online, absolute joke. I asked a question on Sept 25th got a bog standard reply two weeks later, I asked my original question again a day after the reply and as of now no reply. No very professional

I did my valuation in November, but haven't heard anything back since. I usually get a letter with the amount owing and pay it in the post office, but haven't got a letter yet. Anyone else not heard anything from them? 🤔
