Is anyone doing Clues by Sam? Its an often difficult enough logic puzzle - I cannot figure how to link it, hopefully the link above will work.

It does seem a bit impossible at times - the puzzle must be wrong - but its not, it can be done. I am definitely getting better at it.

If anyone doing it knows how to share results with Boards please enlighten me 😃

Edit Ah, I seem to have shared my today's results, which irritatingly also shows the puzzle. Maybe there is a way round this.

Lol, its definitely a headwreck sometimes, but having done a good few of them now they are easier! I have got a bit addicted, I do the daily one then another from the list of extra ones available.

I've got a bit obsessed, do them daily and have done most of the 50 or so extra kit that I paid €5 for. Still doing them but have got down to the evil and nightmareish level which I have to admit is a bit beyond me at times. I can do 'hard' pretty efficiently. I am pretty sure they are helping my cognitive state (I am 'elderly', heaven forfend 😁).

You are much faster than me - though I rarely get to do them in one go, usually something distracts me, sometimes for hours! I did get today's with all greens though 😁. I'm not sure how to get the result to transfer/copy.

Came across this a few months ago and absolutely love it. Reminds me of the famous ‘Zebra Puzzle’, with clues like, If the man in the green house smokes Dunhill, then the man who keeps dogs has a neighbour who drinks tea. Something incredibly satisfying about breaking the clue into its parts and deducing its implications. It’s perfect for killing time on the bus, though I do feel a bit embarrassed because it looks a lot more childish than it actually is!

My hard-won experience is that the final hurdle of the most difficult puzzles often rests on the following reasoning. There’ll be a square that determines several others. You assume it’s green and follow through the logic without finding a contradiction. You then assume that the first square is red and follow through the logic, again without contradiction. It seems you’ve no reason to favour either. But if you strain your brain and compare the squares in each scenario, invariably one of the squares will be the same colour in both. It’s a different kind of logic to the other clues; you don’t work it out by deduction.

I have been doing them with enthusiasm, I don't tend to post the answers though as I usually do them in bits over the day. I'm not very quick though, there is usually one clue that I just sit and look at, then other times you can zip through with speed. One clue yesterday stumped me as I could not get my head round the way it was phrased, that was just me being dense but the brain wasn't cooperating.

The gradings are not always that relevant though, i have done a 'hard' one with great efficiency then got stuck on a medium.

I ground to a halt at 3 also, but then copped what the problem was and moved on. Its one of those 'we have told you this, so extrapolate the opposite' situations.

Got there in the end, mainly by randomly stabbing at squares until something stuck and I got going again!

Same as yesterday - not really sure how I got there, but I did!

Is there any guide to what all the different colours and shapes mean? I'm guessing it's something to do with using hints (for all the fecking use they are!)
