I hate Winter either way, but yeah I would much rather that they just leave the clocks on GMT all year round then, rather than switching to BST in March.

Heavy blustery showers. Hail at times as well.

Bright out but seriously windy in Dublin, is this related to the hurricane? Some mad gusts. Not nice to be outside in.

That little low pressure that can be seen on the rainfall radar that ran across ulster between 12 and 2pm would be about the size of hurricane Melissa's hurricane force core of winds. Imagine if that low had an intense center of 892mb. Ulster would be flattened while the rest of us had storm Eowyn type winds.

Heard thunder overnight. Heavy rain earlier today cleared and a nice sunny day since.

Yellow - Wind Warning for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry

South to southeasterly winds will strengthen through Thursday afternoon and evening, with gusts of 40-50 mph likely fairly widely, and perhaps 60-70 mph in more exposed areas, especially along coasts and over the Mournes. Outbreaks of rain are also expected during this time, especially on Thursday evening where a short period of heavy rain accompanied by strong, gusty winds will be possible in places.

After a decent enough morning/early afternoon here in Dublin, where the sun even made one of it's rare appearances, it's gone miserable as hell here now, and currently raining. Just what you need for the cycle home. Not looking forward to tomorrow, as it's supposed to be extremely wet?

A gust almost took me off the bike going to work, it seems to have calmed a bit now, be careful.

Nice day in Galway. A few showers about but managed to get 9 holes in with only one shower and plenty of sunshine. Nice weather to clean up the garden now that everything has stopped growing. Well, the grass is growing a small bit I think.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Beautiful last evening in North Dublin with a bright half moon .

Miss the hour of daylight as I tend to head out walking in the evenings but once it's dry and clear it's ok.

Today is cold , wet and windy ..miserable

Up to 175mm of rain for October in Sligo. Far and away wettest month of 2025 due to Amy and rain almost all the days. Dont think wel reach a rare 200mm month and November will hopefully be dryer. Will prob be a bit milder too as heat on a lot this month.

Heavy rain around Tralee, from frequent showers this morning to heavy more prolonged rain in the afternoon, 17mm so far, windy and mild.

The rain rate is incredible in West Mayo at the minute, coming sideways and as intense as a tropical system. Lots of flash flooding on the roads.

Awful day in Arklow - wind and rain. Didn't need to go out thankfully so hibernated for the day!

Yes up the road from you here in Rathdrum and it's grim alright. Worked from home today and only stepped outside to bring the dog out. Lights on in the house the whole day, I absolutely detest this time of the year from late October to late February. But looking at the radar and the forecast I think we got away lightly so far. The rain hasn't been as heavy as was forecast and the winds are also a lot lighter. At least the weekend is looking reasonably better.

13.6mm so far in Greystones. On radar looked like a little constant ball of rain/drizzle hugging the north Wicklow coast all afternoon.

There's a big top up on its way and good blast of wind accompanying it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,268 ✭✭✭adocholiday

I can see that about 15 minutes away on the radar

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 919 ✭✭✭Robwindstorm

I got away lightly enough in Meath even though it was wet all day, but the radar looks nasty for us alright

must be the wettest day of the year

Surprised Wicklow wasn't included in both the wind and rain warnings. Fairly nasty out there now with the heaviest of the rain just arriving.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 978 ✭✭✭Rugbyf565

hopefully a mild, dryer November, very hard to make any kind of plans in the current weather
