Brighton playing stone age football here passing it out from the back.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

Who would have thought having a solid keeper would be so important.

Oh wow that touch from Mbeumo was stunning

It's funny, even at 2-0 up just past the half hour I've gotten used to thinking "only a matter of time til we concede and then it's squeaky bum time".

But I'm finally getting back instead to the mentality of "this could be 3 or 4 nil".

That added bite and determination from the likes of Cunha & Mbeumo, the belief that led to and now stems from the win over Liverpool despite conceding the equaliser, and having a (so far) solid and reliable keeper.

It all adds up to some belief and maybe even momentum.

Definition, he brings a steady hand back there.

    poor miss sesko

Ah if that had a finish it would have been a super goal

    Its Lammens.

With Onana you knew at least one goal was getting gifted to the opposition. Now we have a goalkeeper that can CATCH a ball.

    Cesko should have netted there

I'm getting a tingling feeling I haven't felt in a long long time.

    And the football is encouraging

If we are still a few up towards the end of the game will he still swap the cb's?

Very encouraging stuff. Pity that Sesko chance wasn’t scored, but very pleased with that first half

Great half. Well in control and deserve to be ahead by more.

Strong first half and plenty cause for optimism. If we see a similarly encouraging 2nd half I will be delighted.

Really enjoyable half of football. You are never gonna have a whole 45 mins your own way against any PL team no matter how good you are. Delighted for Cunha, hes worked incredibly hard the last couple of games. TBF everyone played their part in that 45.

    Sustained attacks, mental stuff altogether.

Shane Sesko had a poor first touch, that would have been a lovely goal

Yup, I hope they don't change things around and just try to sit on this lead. If we then end up losing a goal then the momentum would be all theirs.

Would love to see a 3 or 4 goal win. It's been a while.

Big difference in brunos positional discipline the last few games too I think. He's not running around trying to start and continue the press all by himself. Obviously having 3 player up top willing and able to run has taken the pressure off him. And therefore him staying more in midfield is helping cas who has also been playing quite well lately and started well today too.

And as has been mentioned the confidence in lammens is helping things at the other end too.

Very incouraging stuff. To think if we win today RA will likely get manager of the month, mad stuff considering the mood not so long ago!

A perfect first half in many ways. In complete control for the most part, and certainly don’t look like messing this up.

Brighton have been poor, but we’ve made them look like that. It’s the workrate that’s done it, and front three have set the tone there, especially Sesko and Mbuemo who have hounded the Brighton defence down at every turn. Cunha too.

Lammens has the defence confident, he doesn’t come across as an accident waiting to happen, and they’re so much more at ease on the ball as a result.

2-0 up, now we have to push on, show our quality. Brighton are there for the skewering, so go skewer them, be ruthless. Most of all, keep the workrate going for the 90, show that we can.

For all the (deserved) criticism towards Amorim, they’ve gone out again today with belief and purpose. Fair play to him for having them tuned into that type of performance.

    Now, drive it home.

Really think we dodged a massive bullet with Baleba. Not worth half what we were quoted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,493 ✭✭✭Quandary

    was thinking exactly that.

Any time ive watched him this season he has failed to impress. I remember thinking 120m or whatever was crazy money for him. Hopefully we concentrate our efforts and finances elsewhere.

Am I the only one who thinks the Diallo tackle was a pen ? The touch done nothing re the directon of the ball, he was still running onto it if he wasn't taken out.

Hes completely lost his head and has been a shambles this year.

overplaying a wee bit here, sometimes a shot is the better option.

Clear peno for me. Keys & Gray saying the same on Bein Sports. He didn't "get a touch", the ball brushed his heel as Amad put it past him.

even that shot he had in the 1st half just screamed of bad technique.
