This beautiful work of art was installed before we bought the house. I screwed out he centre of the drain that mates with the sink plug strainer as there was dirt at the bottom and the plug wasnt going in far enough. I think in doing so I've pushed something down.

Would there be something I can do to fix this temporarily and I'll get a plumber in to sort fix it properly then. Just wedge some wood underneath the pipes? Or do that and use silicone. How is it supposed to be held in place? I am getting the plumber in to install a willis immersion and a mixer tap on the hot water cylinder so if I could get a week out of the sink I could get him to do both jobs at once.
