Refurbed.ie Lenovo Laptop For 14 Year Old.

That is my current main laptop which I got from refurbed.ie. Aside from the absence of a branded Lenovo box you would not tell it was 2nd hand.

For a christmas present for a 14 year old, you could get around the absence of the branded box by setting it up on Christmas morning, maybe throw in a new gaming mouse?

Can't fault it as a laptop. Short of a MacBook Pro, it's the best I ever owned.

I've not used the P15, but there is a reason why every laptop I have owned in the last 13 years have been Lenovo ThinkPads. I find the hardware solid and dependable.

I should point out, Ive only ever bought 2nd hand ThinkPads. They are commonly used as corporate laptops, and so get little wear and tear. 30 clicks a day in excel, or scrolling through Outlook - not a teenager mashing on the keyboard when playing Fortnight. I am a fan of CEX for other forms of 2nd hand electronics(particularly photographic), but for laptops, I highly recommend refurbed.ie.

Somewhat related anecdote: A friend of my fathers ran a car dealership for many years but retired a couple of years ago. My dad asked him, so what do you know now that you didnt before? The man said(Im paraphrasing): "For one, I will never buy a new car again. The minute they drive off the lot, they depreciate in value".

I feel very much the same about laptops.

Ive not used the P15 and dont game on my laptop. Thats what my Legion Go is for ;-)
