This button has been available for a while now, it appears for everyone, AFAIK it doesn't work and the process will fail.

On my Apple Watch Ultra, if I open the Watch app, it offers me the option to activate a cellular plan for Apple Watch from Vodafone since it think I am on a Vodafone SIM card, but it obviously won't work because it asks me to login and I don't have a Vodafone Bill Pay account.

Just saw this Reddit post. Wonder if GoMo is going to introduce this as an offer to price match Clear Mobile and Sky Mobile and 48.

Does anyone know how the data usage can be tracked using CM's own services? (So not having to rely on phone data)

For example on 48.ie you can see your current data used, and also call minutes and texts for the current month...so current live data.

This is very useful info for travel and keeping a track of the data roaming limit e.g. 19GB

    The dashboard gives nothing away.

Yeah, the Clear Mobile website and entire service experience is pitiful, but the actual mobile coverage/service is basically 1:1 with Vodafone.

So I guess with Clear you pay literally just for the service, while with Vodafone you pay for actual customer service, and a retail experience.

I had the same issue with Three tbh, they wouldn't even display how much data I had left when roaming outside the EU. I think many providers just build a dummy dashboard/stats but can't accurately track them.

Successfully ported to Clear today at 4 on the dot (moving from Three) however it seems my old number still hasn't transferred over, (thought it would between the window of 4-6pm) I just have a new temp one from Clear. I'm assuming it could take 24 hours for old numbers to update? Got a friend to do a test call for my old one but it just says 'call forwarded'.

I tried logging onto Clear to doublecheck account details but the old number is still being used for the SMS codes. 🙄

Is your Three SIM still working? I didn't think you were given a temporary number if you were switching from any network other than Vodafone or An Post. If it doesn't start working today, I'd get in contact with Clear Mobile as it might be a split port.

Yeah, I was thinking the same.

If you're porting, you don't get a temp number from CM. You get a SIM card and it only goes live once the port is done.

Otherwise you select "new number" and there's no porting involved.

That's my understanding of it anyhow. Open to correction!

it happened with me last week , I ordered a clear Sim and chosen to keep my old number. I contacted clear through the chat to port earlier one day and they said you may selected a new number OR there was a glitch in the browser during order. Anyway has cancelled the order and ordered a new one. Tomorrow I will see again. Best advice is to contact them and not to wait.

Here's some additional info on EU data roaming for the 19GB.

Basically there doesn't currently appear to be a way to check your usage.

However the CM website has this info in the Help section...

How will I know I've used my EU roaming data allowance?

You will receive a text message when you reach 80% and 100% of your 19GB data allowance.

I ordered a SIM for a family member last week and when I put it into the phone, the settings show a new number (i'm porting a number in) however the new number doesn't work.

Thanks for the help all, looks this was the same case for me. Got a very patient lad in support who confirmed the courier probably sent the wrong sim (I had an influx in odd numbers/code verification requests too, like others were using the new number) so they'll issue a new sim tomorrow & to get on to em to activate.

Off to a great start! 🤪🎪

I got a sim for a family member and it came with a temp number. Support said that because they are porting from a vodafone number, then you get a temp number which will go when porting happens.

I asked for porting to take place asap and they obliged and indeed, new sim temp number went and old number replaced it.

So moving from vodafone, you get a sim with a temp number that works with the temp number until porting. Anyone else you get a non functioning sim until porting is complete.

Oh yes that's true, good point!

And An Post Mobile also I've read.

Yeah my new sim was received today (with correct old number) & activated by support so got it all sorted. It seems like my details just got mixed up with another customer's. 🤷‍♀️ Hopefully it's not a recurring issue.

I'm planning to move a SIM from VF to Clear Mobile shortly so if someone wants to send me a referral code then I'll use it.

received the second new SIM after a new order then asked to port earlier than the squelched two days after . Porting done in around two hours just keep clear sim with you and once the old sim network goes so put the new clear one. Note, if you are using low mode battery this will disable 5G network . Best of luck

Low battery mode disabling 5G is a feature of your phone, not the network.

I know that , I spent a time to figure out why no 5G even the support team doesn’t know.

Is anyone having issues with the refer a friend. I setup a family member using my link (to them in theory) and completed sign up however there's nothing showing on either on our status. When should it come through?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,918 ✭✭✭Roberto_gas

once they pay their first bill…it should show under pending meanwhile on ur profile once u click check status in the referral page

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,178 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

No pending I'm afraid. I also used a referral link from someone here when I signed up and it isn't showing either.

I used referral code from someone in here, i have successfully referred 4 people and i have only received 10 euros.

All the rest not showing as pending or whatever

All the above more than 4 months ago

I questioned all this with their chat support and got nowhere

    I have given up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 770 ✭✭✭pfftdetail

I have successfully referred multiple people, over 6 at this point, however with one or two, I did not get any referral bonus.

What I suspect is it's either an issue with the referral system bugging out, or, if the referrals are based on browser cookies, anyone that signs up using an anti-tracking / adblocking / privacy-focused browser will not get the referral.

My friend signed up with Librewolf, so I suspect whatever method was used for tracking the referral got sniped.

Do you still have a referral link? If so, DM it to me and I can test if it's truly based on a browser cookie.

Any update on Clear Mobile offering eSIM? On the Vodafone 20 euro a month PAYG plan and ran out of calling minutes halfway through the month… Have to have eSIM due to having the iPhone Air.

In other news, the 48 12.99 euro a month plan seems to be going away soon.

I know you’ve had issues with Sky Mobile in the past but I’ve been with them a month now and its been grand for me, they seemed to have sorted things out.
