    Warranty work documentation

…message I’m getting is there isn’t any? Is that people’s experience here? Has anyone asked for dealer stamped worksheets confirming the warranty issue(s) +all corrective work carried out? And if so, what did they say. Surely customers need this, especially when things aren’t done right?

Just to update: replacing the wheels did fix my steering wheel vibration issue

The scratch was minor and will wear away, not would anyone ever see it, so not too fussed

The left drift is apparently common with new tires for the first while acc to my car friend, so not overly concerned.

    I love this car

    Hi All,

Anyone else having a tethered Zappi with their Inster? Seeing an odd issue I am trying to isolate and see what the root cause is.

Occasionally I will put the car on scheduled charge with the Zappi charger and sometimes but not all the time it will drop from 7.2kwh charge to 1.4

Unplugging and re-plugging solves the issue and it charges at 7.2 consistently.

This is occurring whether I use bluelink to schedule charging or the Zappi app.

    Anyone else seeing this?

Did it again last night.. went from 7.2 to 1.3 charge rate after a few minutes. Looks like the ICCU issue others have mentioned but I see no recall for my car on Hyundai. Will call dealer today.

That's exactly what happened to me. I don't think there was ever a recall - just contact the dealer and they'll fix it.

However I just got a letter in the post about a recall to do with bolt caps. I'm hoping the dealer fixed it when it was in for the ICCU but I'll have to check tomorrow. We really love the car but 2 return to dealer issues in less than 4 months doesn't inspire confidence. To compare I've also had an MG electric since 2023, over 80000km done and absolutely no issues at all.

Thanks for the response. How long did it take to fix the ICCU issue?
I got the bolts recall too so hopefully they do that too.

Just passed 3000km in my Inster now and still loving it. So glad i went with this car. No issues to report so far, the only thing that i can say that is anyway annoying is the indicator clicking is too quiet. I have left the indicator on a few times but never noticed it…

Other than that minor thing everything else is great. Really like the feel of the car on the road, nice and stable roadholding for a car of it's size.

I wonder does the Inster have as much interior room as the BMW i3 ? seems to be smaller.

    For people, or cargo?

You'll need to tell them as they may need to order parts. They didn't do anything about bolts during the 15k service yesterday and it's only when I was picking up the car I remembered about the letter and told them. They said they'd need to order parts.

Thanks again. It's crazy that you can book in for 'issues with charging' and they don't twig that they might need to replace the ICCU and have one in stock.

I suppose for both, the link shows the i3 larger but not much about interior room except the Inster has a bit more cargo room.

I honestly can't believe Hyundai are still having issues with ICCU at this stage of the game ? that's incredible.

FWIW, I had all three campaigns done on the Inster today. (ICCU update; Coolant driver module replacement; Screwcaps)

Thanks for the update. Was this an in and out of garage in one day or were you waiting a while for parts etc.. cheers.

    Glad you got yourself sorted.

They had to order the part for the coolant driver module approx 2 weeks before the appointment.

Once I was at the dealership the three jobs took them approx one hour in total.

We've passed the 4k mark with ours and still loving it. It's such a versatile car. We took it for our longest drive yet. 250km. 2 adults, 2 kids, boot full of luggage. Left the house at 100%, 330km range on the dash. Arrived with 50km to spare. With the false floor you really get a lot out of the boot. Any smaller bags went under that and then the suitcases on top. Perfectly fit two "carry on luggage" sized suitcases and one big suitcase, with room to spare for coats and a few random bits.

Folks, can someone confirm to me that I am not going mad?

Just had my Inster in for charging issues and they told me they did a software update, fixed the coolant recall and the bolts under the seat.

I come home to find the bolts under the driver seat still not capped. (Yes I should have checked at garage).

is this correct? That it is passenger side bolts? Which incidentally I don’t have on my car only under drivers seat.

    Thanks in advance.

Cripes mustyrocks! what is the issue with those caps anyway? I thought it was just raw finish of screws that needed caps on them to stop injury to wandering hand? I got the notice but not rushing back on that account.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35 mustyrocks

I didn’t rush back for the bolts. I had a recall letter about them too and wasn’t pushed to go in. If I hadn’t had issues with the ICCU I wouldn’t have rushed in either.

They are under the driver's seat.

I checked it as soon as they gave me the car back as they don't always do what they said they've done..

Update after garage ICCU software update.

Didn’t work, same issue dropping on charging. Looks like back to garage for another day or more.

Anyone else bought from EP Mooney’s and gotten their ICCU fixed?

I've started seeing charging issues on my Inster now (July 2025 car). No warning messages on the dash yet but it looks like the ICCU issue. I had previously scheduled the car in for the various updates next week (Bolts, water coolant and ICCU software). It sounds like the ICCU software update is just a general update and not a fix for the charging issue? I guess I'll find out next week. I'd love to know what percentage of Insters have this problem - it's a real pain for a new car.
