    Thanks

For the moment, Luas to Connolly and either walk or there's a bus along the north quays.

But there's all sorts of other options - get the TFI app and use the journey planner

Straight forward - Luas from Heuston to Connolly and then shuttle bus headed down to the point - get off at either Mayor Square or Spencer Dock and walk across Samuel Beckett (Harp) bridge to the opposite side of the river - theatre is in front of you - it's about 10 minute walk from either stop.

Buy a ticket to Zone 1, even though you are getting off the Luas early you need a journey to the usual luas stops. which you are getting the bus to.

If you don't fancy the bus/walk then there'll be plenty of taxis around Connolly.

Get on any C1, C2, C3, C4 or 52 at stop 4413 at Heuston (on the Southern side on St Johns Road at SE corner of Heuston, not the Luas station stops out front). This will drop you at stop 353 Grand canal quay at the bottom of Pearse St, a 1 min walk for BG theatre.

Same in reverse to get back to Heuston.

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Public transport user? If you're sick of phantom ghost services on the 'official' RTI sources, check bustimes.org for actual 'real' RTI, if it's on their map it actually exists.

this is the answer. Done it a few times. Of course Luas works also but good bit of a walk.

    Thanks very much, very helpful.

Now we're considering going into city centre first? Not sure yet! If we do this is there a bus / or Luas straight in?

And then is there a bus from city centre going out to BG? and back of course?

Should we decide to get a taxi from centre, where is there a rank and roughly how much would it be?

Also is there a taxi rank near BG for coming back?

    Thanks very much

the C buses from heuston all go past o Connell bridge and on to bord gais and same on the way back. You don’t need taxis.

    Google maps is your friend.

Get the Luas at Heuston if you're going into the city centre and hop off at either Jervis St or Abbey St.

Re getting from the city centre to the BGT, you can get any of the C buses as mentioned above, from Bachelors Walk if you're planning to be in Henry St. Or get the bus at Townsend St if you're planning to be in Grafton St.

Download the TFI app to get a handle on stops and times. The C routes all go by the BGT and you should be able to get a bus back again easily enough too.

Also get a Leapcard, if you don't have one - it will be handy for all the bus / Luas journeys.

From city centre, don't worry too much about ranks, there are quite a few though, just head to a main road and there'll be taxis circulating or go to a hotel, there always there.

You could also download freenow app and hail a taxi from that, the advantage is you can have your credit card details in the app and save the need for cash with the taxi driver - fare is as per the meter so no cost to you.

From BGT back to Heuston C buses with a leap card offer best value but if you're in a rush to get train after show and want a taxi, they'll be in the side road beside the theatre on the Marker Hotel side. Alternatively just walk to Misery Hill (behind BGT) or Pearse Street (where you'll be going for the C buses anyhow) and there'll be taxis passing.
