JOB and Prendergast coming alive is nice to see. Prendergast's kick through is one example of why he's so rated, he is capable of excellent decision making on the fly, and the had one of his sliding trip tackles to save a try in the first half. Season is off and running.

Can we give Henshaw and McGrath the hook already?

Did everyone fall asleep on that Bulls transition? Genuinely terrible defending.

    jesus christ. Disaster 30 seconds.
Bulls with the ball on their tryline, we miss a one up tackle, they go the whole way down the pitch to score and then silly buggers afterwards and we give away a bloody penalty on halfway to restart.

this amount of slipping in the last 10 mins is comedy stuff

Cooney had some awful moments there unfortunately. Slipped when making a tackle near the Bulls line which led to their transition. The slipped again when Bulls were attacking and allowed them through.

Thats bollox. Also would like to see that coetzee tackle again

That's another great transition play from Leinster.

He won't get the credit for it on here, but Prendergast is having a stormer.

great counter attack here, massive turnover by Boyle in the build up

Boyle made a crucial steal there, was looking ominous

This is a genuinely good performance from Leinster this half.

We may not win, but we're coming out of this tour with at least a point. That's far better than what I expected especially after last weekends game.

get in! Forwards are so much better this week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 12,740 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

that was far too easy. Two kicks completely shredded us

I've only been able to watch the match in snippets but every time I've tuned in he's been doing something really good. His passing has been excellent.

    Sigh

    Oh Sam

ffs just giving the game away

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,729 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

    Unforgivable slackness.

That one lazy moment has actually ruined the complexion of the whole second half, and likely given up the bonus point.

Lets see if he can make amends.

    Edit: No.

sloppiness has pissed the game away. Baird knocking on, Sam with the intercept. 14pts there.

Great assist from prendergast there at the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,200 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Disappointed for Prendergast to make that error near the end, but I thought he was good overall. Made some great decisions in attack and showed a good range of passing and kicking. Also made all of his tackles which will no doubt enrage some.

Sam had a good game overall. Unfortunate with the intercept at the end which will give the trolls something to grab on to

No wins to start the season isn't acceptable, but that's a much improved performance on last weekend. The set piece was much improved as was our physicality. Thought we looked very impressive especially in transition attack.

What actually let us down was our defence in regular phase play. Was pulled apart by kicking behind. That was like an early Nienaber performance. Disappointed by that.

From an Ireland perspective I think Clarkson and Boyle showed very well against a massive Bulls scrum. They won that battle overall really. Also really encouraging to see Paddy McCarthy not wilt under that pressure. Both loose heads are still very young, but more than capable of staying in the game physically.

Prendergast also played well. Made his tackles, kicked his goals apart from a speculative half way shot and showed some good decision making in attack. Shame about the final few minutes. But a reasonable person would come out of that encouraged by that performance.

There are no more excuses for The Nienaber Defence

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 12,740 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

supposed to be his biggest selling point, and we've ship 60+ points in the first 2 games.

Much better performance , hard watch for the last 10 as team was put on its feet and altitude will always favour Bulls in last 20. Gutsy single point. Lots of regrets but they put their bodies on the line and gave it everything. Younger players have a lot to be confident about. Bad start to the season but realistically was it ever going to be different. Lots of play to come .

Not entirely sure what to think. The performance from minutes 20-70 was very good, but the ending has left a sour taste in the mouth.

"No, I’m literally a defence coach, I just make them tackle and keep the points as low as possible.”

    His disingenuous quote after Northampton.
