Based on Donnie’s words here, I’m operating on the assumption that the spineless yes-men around still haven’t explained the process of how a person is actually awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, or explained how minuscule his chances of getting one actually are.

The 2025 Noble Peace Prize winner will be announced next Friday. Donne probably thinks that if he can force a «peace» by Sunday, that he’ll guarantee a prize to him.

Clearly no-one has mentioned to him that the winner was already likely chosen weeks/months ago, and all those dubious nominations he got came too late in the year to be valid for the 2025 Prize.

Get some good drink in for next weekend, his meltdown when the actual winner is announced might be one to watch.

It's so obvious he's on a time crunch because he thinks he'll get it if there is peace in Gaza by then.

And once it's clear he won't get the Nobel Peace Prize he'll stop putting effort in.

The winner is announced next week, to give the winner time to arrange the trip to Oslo. The award itself is given in December.

The nominee list itself is kept secret for 50 years (or at least a couple of decades)

Today he stopped 2 billion in federal funding to Chicago. Which is against the law too apparently.

Iirc he's not likely to even be eligible for this year. Nominations for 2026 are what have been coming through this year.

This is true. I believe the cut off is February each year. Again…I doubt his Yes-men have the spine to explain this one to him.

    Must be dumb and lucky.

It seems like every week we get to a new low. Federal employees in the Dept. of Education, Dept. of Labour, Dept of Health and Human Services and the SBA were given templates to put in their Out of Office such as 'I am out of office because Democrats voted for a government shutdown. Some employees said their Out of Office was changed automatically but they feared retribution if they made a complaint

Some government departments such as the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development had messages on their websites blaming the Radical Left. The Office of Management and Budget sent a mass email to their employees stating that Trump opposes a shutdown but Democrats are blocking a resolution.

Separately Trump has posted on Truth Social that Democrats are the party of Hate, Evil and Satan.

Are we witnessing the end of democracy in the US?

I think calling him dumb is underestimating him entirely. He's incredibly gifted at a) appealing to the under-educated in society and b) preying on people's innermost fears and prejudices. He's also excellent at getting across simple (often ridiculous) ideas in ways that people are either enchanted by, or confused by and tricked into voting for him based on falsehoods. There's no doubt his political instincts are excellent. It's why he's where he is today.

That said, as I've mentioned many times, I view him as the absolute worst that the human race has to offer. He is that vile. An utterly disgusting cretin that needs to be consigned to the history books ASAP.

Just a minor correction . The Noble Peace Prize committee have yet to have its final meeting to decide the winner! The Nobel Peace Prize is a completely different animal!

I wonder did those that sign on did so while using the same strategy that Meta, TIc TOC , et al used paying large sums to Trump to settle out of court as it was cheaper in the long term from a business perspective. Those who signed up to this peace agreement maybe did so as hey can extract something ‘BIG’ from the US in the long term/ helps maintain good relations, etc, etc,. They probably know/think that the deal will not come to fruition anyway

You did realise you were complimenting Biden there, right? (And Obama and Clinton).

donald is a very good con man and grifter, the way education is going in the US, dumb leaders are going to become more and more frequent and they'll wonder what happened as their power starts to wane (as is already happening under trump).

This was predicted at election time, certain posters let their misogyny and bias get in the way of that.

Trump is proof that stupid people end up in important positions.

Him being president does not mean he is smart or clever. His actions and words point towards a person of very questionable intelligence.

But, he does claim to know more about everything, than anyone who has ever lived…so there is that.

The following is the text of the email that Penelope Hegseth sent to her son, Pete Hegseth, on April 30, 2018. One sentence was redacted by The New York Times for privacy reasons.

    Son,

I have tried to keep quiet about your character and behavior, but after listening to the way you made Samantha feel today, I cannot stay silent. And as a woman and your mother I feel I must speak out..

You are an abuser of women — that is the ugly truth and I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around, and uses women for his own power and ego. You are that man (and have been for years) and as your mother, it pains me and embarrasses me to say that, but it is the sad, sad truth.

I am not a saint, far from it.. so don’t throw that in my face,. but your abuse over the years to women (dishonesty, sleeping around, betrayal, debasing, belittling) needs to be called out.

Sam is a good mother and a good person (under the circumstances that you created) and I know deep down you know that. For you to try to label her as “unstable” for your own advantage is despicable and abusive. Is there any sense of decency left in you? She did not ask for or deserve any of what has come to her by your hand. Neither did Meredith.

I know you think this is one big competition and that we have taken her side… bunk… we are on the side of good and that is not you. (Go ahead and call me self-righteous, I dont’ care)

Don’t you dare run to her and cry foul that we shared with us… that’s what babies do. It’s time for someone (I wish it was a strong man) to stand up to your abusive behavior and call it out, especially against women

We still love you, but we are broken by your behavior and lack of character. I don’t want to write emails like this and never thought I would. If it damages our relationship further, then so be it, but at least I have said my piece. [Redacted]

And yes, we are praying for you (and you don’t deserve to know how we are praying, so skip the snarky reply)

I don’t want an answer to this… I don’t want to debate with you. You twist and abuse everything I say anyway. But… On behalf of all the women (and I know it’s many) you have abused in some way, I say… get some help and take an honest look at yourself

    Mom
