And here we go, with Week 2 of the URC. All specific Match discussion should please go here unless there is a dedicated match thread.

We are blessed with three Friday evening games again, which I have to say I quite enjoy.

Ulster's first XV should get the job done against Edinburgh, but it will be a big test. And they have no depth to speak of - if this team can't get the job done it doesn't bode well for their season with inevitable injuries etc.

Dragons v Sharks will be interesting as to see just how bad the Sharks can be on the road. Losing to Glasgow doesn't tell us much, but if they struggle against the Dragons…

Benetton vs Glasgow is a surprisingly big game. It is the kind of game that Benetton really need to be winning if they are going to keep growing into a serious contending team and make amends for missing the playoffs last year.

Connacht can get off to a very healthy 2-0 start under Stu (and condemn the Scarlets to 0-2 after their loss to Munster)

I'm not talking about the Bulls Leinster game cause it will just make me sad.

Don't forget for viewers in N. Ireland Treviso vs Glasgow is on Premier Sports 1.

Predicted that yesterday. Pretending that moving the match by an hour and ten minutes would save it from a dangerous large storm was embarrassing.

Wonder was Murrayfield not an option or maybe safety of players/staff/spectators travelling in the first place was the key concern.

No Leinster game on Premier but it's on the player which we can't get???

Just an update. It seems some listings are saying it's on Premier 1 others saying the player. We wait and see.

There really is a simple explanation.

There are two channels, both called Premier 1. One is the UK version the other is the ROI one.

The ROI version is showing Bulls v Leinster.

The UK one is showing Treviso v Glasgow.

Premier 2 is a single channel covering both UK and Ireland - it’s showing Scottish football in both countries. Hence the difference.

Treviso v Glasgow will be live in ROI on URC.TV only, and will get a delayed showing on Sunday at lunchtime on Premier 1 ROI.

Very simple indeed. Having 2 separate channels both called Prem 1 is very very simple.

    The answer is bad.
    17-17 with 5 to go…

Dragons just mindlessly going pick and go in the 83rd minute, 5m out at 17-17. Just go for the bloody drop

Jesus christ, they go for a speculative pass out wide and end up knocking on.

What there they thinking!? My mother could have knocked over a drop from there. No idea what the 9 was thinking.

That was brainless from the dragons, the out-half has to demand that he gets the chance for a drop goal and the scrum-half had no clue either he didnt once look back to his out-half. I hope coaches are taking note of that and play that back to their players. It should be drilled jnto them and it's not the first time i've seen it

The weather forecast for Munster's game tonight is windy, but not stormy. It will probably go ahead unless there's damage caused by the storm. Electricity or structural damage to the stadium.

I hope it goes ahead. I can't have leinster being thrashed by the Bulls being the only Irish team playing this week.

Scarlett's couldn't get to Ireland. Their flight got diverted to Manchester yesterday while trying to fly to Ireland.

If scarlets couldn't travel, any word on Cardiff? Unless they travelled on Thursday, they could be in the same boat

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 13,159 Mod ✭✭✭✭Cookiemunster

Shannon didn't have any issues taking flights yesterday. They were actually taking diversions from Cork and Knock.

Not taking the drop goal was absolutely ludicrous. It literally couldn't have been better set up, and it's not like the try would have denied the Sharks a losing bonus point or anything.

Having said that, the Dragons won't be quite the punching bags they were last season. I'd expect them to take one or two complacent scalps.

Dragons 9 Rhodri Williams wins MOTM

Would be interested to hear Dragons 10 Tinus De Beer's take on that.

Not a fun first 7 minutes in the Leinster game

Soroka off with injury after 10 minutes. Poor fella has no luck at all.

Was dropped by his own lifter at the lineout.

Knock ons and forward passes allowed now it seems?

Think it might just be blood. Seemed to get a smack on the nose.

TOB makes a huge difference to our ability to actually make ground when we create space out wide.

    McGrath is having another shocker.

Turned a great Leinster opportunity into a Bills try through awful handling.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 31,235 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

Absolute shocking defence off that kick. Just no structure to the kickchase line at all.

Two very easy tries for the Bulls. Will be a long day.

I can only blame the fact that we are dressed as Ryanair planes.

This is really, really bad. I'm concerned.

Another zero points looking likely here. Leinster are so bad.

I could see us sneaking a score, it's fairly open at times. But it is going to be a hammering.
