The Fáilte Ireland dashboard says four?

    Could that be correct?

Two in Longford town: Longford Arms and Annally?

Plus two in or near Ballymahon? Cooneys and Newcastle House?

    Thanks.

I wasn't aware Newcastle House was open again. Otherwise that's all there is. It's a very small county. A pub each in Longford and Ballymahon have rooms as well. There's also the Keenan Townhouse Hotel in Termonbarry but that's technically in Co Roscommon as it's on the west bank of the Shannon.

Unfortunately two well known ones, the Park House in Edgeworthstown, and the Greville Arms in Granard, both closed a number of years ago. As above there are a few just over the border, Piker's Lodge in Gowna and Feerick's in Rathowen also. There's another pub with rooms in Abbeyshrule.

It's just not a destination county in terms of places to explore or visit, most are either on a Shannon cruise or staying in Centreparcs.

Years back, there was a prominent Longford hotelier who opposed and blocked any new hotels moving into the area. On reflection, I believe those selfish actions did an awful lot of damage, and likely stunted the countys growth in the hospitality industry.

Scroll down on this link for The Richmond Inn in Clondra, below which is a more defined list of accommodation available around Co. Longford.

Another option (and better grade of room) is https://pvslongford.ie/accommodation/
