They played really well. It might be the confidence boost they needed to get things going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 360 ✭✭Bocadilloo

Ya they would want to pace themselves. They had that tournament in the states during the summer as well so hardly any break from last season.

Watching The Barcelona psg game I've lost count of the times yamal has asked for a yellow card to be shown,do players not get booked for asking for cards anymore?

Absolutely mad to see Haaland banging in goals at an obscene rate this season, and City somehow still dropping points in fixtures they should be winning easy enough.

With his form they could go on some ridiculous run if they can just get their **** together with the simple stuff.

Fairly sure this was only ever a HowardWebb/PGMOL/EPL idea - so not something that applies to the wider world of football.

For UEFA competitions, its considered a form of dissent, and should be a yellow. There were Galatasary lads doing it in their victory over Liverpool, as well, but the referee ignored them. Probably loads more examples in matches I didn't see too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,174 ✭✭✭✭ArmaniJeanss

    Can you link to that?

I've only ever seen it described as 'can be dissent' and 'can be a yellow card' in the rules. Only the PGMOL have directed that it must/should be a yellow card. But happy to be proved wrong with an actual rule for UEFA competitions.
I'll admit I'm semantically rules-lawyering over the ways it's phrased - but on the other hand some posters have implied that the refs who failed to give a yellow have done something wrong, but the actual rules seem to leave it up to the opinion of the ref, like a foul.

I thinks it's termed unsporting conduct but other things like taking your shirt off are covered under this rule as well. I'd imagine the referee has disgression for celebrations after the game whereas excessive celebrations during the match slow down the game and are automatic cards.

Not really a fan of live sport on streaming sites.

Every viewer will be watching it 'live' at a different time depending on what their internet speed is, their location, and what sort of platform they are using. That's before the buffering. At least live TV is consistent.

And do we have to add a new subscription package to existing Netflix subscriptions, or will it be absorbed within the existing package price?

It’s mad that they spent 5 billion on WWE rights for 5 years yeah global rights for six seasons for the Champions will be less money.

Edit. I read that wrong it’s 4billion a season. 26 billion over the six years.

Netflix will soon cost €50 a month.

Mad decision in the Barca game, Olympiacos have a goal ruled out and given a penalty as a barca player handled the ball in build up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 20,852 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

thats a shocking decision to send off the olympiacos player. real hometown decision. barce player should have been booked for diving.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 859 ✭✭✭Muff_Daddy

The Olympiakos player who scored the goal was offside, so it couldn't have counted. They brought the decision back the the handball just before the ball arrived to him, and gave the penalty.

It was actually a really good decision.

That was incredible it was pure simulation from the Barca player and the ref bought it

One of the most protected teams in football. Getting the benefit of the doubt for years despite being serial divers.

I really wish officials would book Arteta for constantly leaving his technical zone he’s been on the pitch already in this game.

Saka goes down so easily, he is lucky he is English. Screaming, shaking is hand like he was electrocuted whilst the Madrid defender has no clue why…..zero contact and all day long he would get a free in the PL.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,371 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

In fairness the defender stood on the side of his foot/ankle this time.

Simeone literally hasn't stepped foot in his own technical area. Yawn

You are very sensitive, one comment where I saw a player scream and wildly shake his hand with no contact. I watched it in real time and in a reply, don't think a free was given and this means I am anti Arsenal.

of course gabriel breaks the deadlock from a set piece

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,791 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

1 nil Arsenal, but probably doesn't count as from a set piece.

Nobody picking up Gabriel there, have Atleti not watched Arsenal at all lately?
