    Hi,

Hoping to avoid parking fees in City centre and have a day out but need to bring the car.

Is parking in Phoenix Park an option?

    Thanks

all the hassle just to save a few quid on a one off trip. But generally there is free parking there

Pre book Jervis for under €15 for the day (10am to 6pm) Centrally located, easy to get to and handy if you do some shopping and don't want to cart stuff about https://prebook.apcoa.ie/carpark/location/jervis-street-car-park/143

In answer to the actual question.

Car parks are provided for visitors to the Park.  All car parks are closed one hour before dark, except for those on the Upper Glen Road and inside Knockmaroon Gate, which are open twenty-four hours a day.  The car parks are situated at the following areas:

    • Papal Cross – opens at 8.30am
    • The Lord’s Walk, next to Dublin Zoo – opens at 9.45am
    • Phoenix Park Visitor Centre – opens at 7.30am
    • Soccer Pavilions on Military Road – opens at 8.30am
    • Civil Service Cricket Club off Chesterfield Avenue – opens at 9.45am
    • Phoenix Cricket Club off Chesterfield Avenue – opens at 9.45am
    • Upper Glen Road – open 24 hours
    • Knockmaroon car park, inside Knockmaroon Gate – open 24 hours

Depends where you are coming from. Day rate at Heuston is only €8.50 and you are right on the luas line, with bus options too.

Its a lot of effort to save very little. I'll add some of the park and rides are very cheap. Navan road parkway for example. Depends where you are coming from.

Paying for parking is a mugs game. I applaud the OP, dont be a slave to the man. Get the steps in too. Throw a folding bike in the boot and youll be in town in < 10 mins

Thanks. Is prefer to spend the $ saved on a treat. It's better off in my pocket that in DCCs

Dublin is like a big furnace and everyone readily shovels money into it.

Box clever, parking fees are excessive in the city

Those high parking fees are intended to make less people drive into the city. Job done as far as they are concerned.
