I'd expect rose to win his game, Fleetwood Thomas is a toss up. De Chambreau to win and mcilroy/scheffler is also a toss up.

Whole thing will be over by about 9 pm.

Having to play out the games a bit pointless

Fair dues to Thomas, I thought he behaved with a lot of class and tried to keep the crowd in order.

He comes across quite well especially in comparison to someone like DeChambeau with his fake social media nice guy act.

What is dispiriting is the homophobic abuse being rained down on Rory. Seems like the US fans think it is better to denigrate your opponent than cheer on your own players. I guess that is in the "anything to win" mentality. Just look at the 1991 Ryder Cup and the injury controversy, Azinger and Beck changing balls and denying it but then admitting it once they knew they would not be penalised. That my friends is cheating and Paul Azinger is the gold analyst on NBC, has he said anything to calm things down? Can he?

I was also a little baffled by the Sky commentators commending Thomas for asking the crowd to be quiet, which was right. The problem was the next hole he asked them to be loud. If he had any sense he would have known asking drunk louts to be loud will only mean more abuse as that is all they know.

As for Bradley, when he fawned over Trump arriving and how it would make a difference on Friday - it didn't - and his latest remarks just shows he is part of the elite and out of touch that he probably would rant against standing next to Trump. The answer to someone pointing out abuse is not whataboutery - but that is all they have. If any of them had any courage they would firstly ask to be paid less as the money the top guys make is obscene - and secondly they would stand up and tell their own crowd to shut the heck up. But courage in the US seems to be lacking these days, on and off the course.

He did undo a lot of that though by asking the crowd to be louder when all they know is abuse. I know he did not mean more abuse, but the fans would not know that, all they would see is more noise - more abuse!!!

I took it that he was trying to get the crowd to support the US team but stop abusing the European team.

Some of the antics of the US crowd must be off putting for the Americans players. Most of them are probably just as horrified at the stuff being shouted.

Sad day for golf and for the event - grounds to not play there again , unless particular grounds met. More security and fairly clear instruction on entry that any abuse to player - you will be removed.

Was great Rory and Shane were together as mates - never mind golf for a min.

From the off with Trump and the current atmosphere in America - the event was a a reflection of America at present - place in a bad way.

Bradley just an odd choice - he seems to lack the smarts for the job, just a meat head. He should have played , is too young and , did he really have the experience and respect from players.

Today is now completely pointless - as will be over in about 3 hours - and all these games will be bizarre to play out.

Course an embarrassment to golf - never mind pro golf. I haven't seen any shots all week of genuine creativity , genuinely hard shots. Fair enough Rahm had a shot of the ages - but that was just an unusual stance on bunker wall.

I know you probably shouldn't make rash calls when emotions high - but the event may need a rethink.

Jesus that article above is shocking - these people paid 750 $ plus to shout homophobic , sexual insults , xenophobic slurs,

    Bizarre.

They will have to have a rethink about whole thing after. Also , **** them , the European players should call it all out in the media center tonight.

no one over there will give a shite, anyone with any standards or morals is afraid to say anything these days in case “dear leader” thinks it indicates your on the other side whatever that is

I know it'd probably be a way over the top reaction… but a tiny (very tiny) part of me would love the European team to one by one forfeit their matches on the 1st green, and give The U.S.A. the cup point by point…..

It would shine the brightest of lights on this weekends events, and they would still be on relatively high moral ground given the cup is essentially in the bag…. and they are refusing to play in such a deplorable atmosphere, which couldn't be any further from the spirit of the game of golf.

of course the other 99% of me says absolutely smash them on the course, and silence them that way though I suspect the grandstands to get quieter as the day trudges on for team USA, USA, USa……

    lol.

Money talks - win it , then win in Europe - then refuse to play unless they come groveling and they will as such a money spinner.

Play in Canada - as apparently that is a US state.

Is there any way at all the Yanks could turn this around?

They must be really hurting now. Could they harness this to get off to a flier? Up in the first 4 or 5 matches, suddenly pressure is on Europe, mental toll of the last few days starts to take effect….

Fleetwood, Rose, Hatton, Lowry all alone out on the course, no team benefit. It's cold out there….

Rahm, Rory et al collapse under the relentless US onslaught. Iwo Jima all over again….

Trump jets in and cheers his boys over the line…

    Greatest comeback since Lazarus…..

Oh say can you see, ……?

    No, I didn't think so.

From the very start when Trump arrived on the first day it was cringe. What happening over there is not golf. It just gives the Ryder Cup a bad name.

A totally childish take on whats been on view this weekend but I thought if the players came out after winning with MEGA baseball caps on, that just might tip them completely over the edge….

I wonder will Trump stay for the photo-op presentation and try to slink away with the trophy a la the Club World Cup?

At on of the tees yesterday, Shane called over a marshall and pointed out the person in the crowd who was heckling and giving the abuse, it did not show if the person was removed or not or anything being done to them.

Rory gave a perfect response, on one of the tees he refused to put till they stopped heckling him.
