Hard to see Rahm and Hatton losing, they're so solid

    The speed he swung...holy ****

Interesting. Cop watching the crowd while Hovland was putting, looking over his shoulder at Hovland and when he holed it, he clapped and then fist-pumped.

Nice by Rory to put it inside him.

Rahm playing like a man possessed and you can tell Hatton is playing for something bigger than himself. Great to see.

Saw a video on X where you could hear the 1st tee hype-up woman with the microphone (who had been struggling badly) actually joined in with some of the crowd chanting "F U Rory". (Video posted by user Brendan Porath). Absolute disgrace! Hopefully she was sacked on the spot.

By the way the NLU thread on X has a comical clip showing the pathetic efforts to generate atmosphere at the first tee this morning. Worth seeing.

Bob has let the crowd get to him. 2 awful approaches in a row

Stupid from Rory on the par 3 to give them a chance and now only 2 up. Yank fan roaring “jackass” at Tommy mid swing is a joke

There some fool in the crowd shouting during Fleetwood's backswing on 15.

The mic seemed to pick up an Irish accent shouting something like "shut up you absolute d*ckhead!" just after the shot too.

Love that from Rory. Tells the crowd to shut the **** up then knocks it to 4ft from 150 yards.

Brilliant from McIlroy there. After telling those gobshites in the crowd to "shut the **** up", he had to nail his shot or they'd have crucified him. And he did nail it.

The crowd in the afternoon gonna be toxic. Hopefully hammer them.

    Serious shot by Bob

Who are we thinking for afternoon fourballs on both sides - I was thinking with Hovland, Fitzpatrick and Hatton all sitting yesterday afternoon they would play twice today but Hovland and Hatton are both struggling to an extent but I think Fitz will play and Aberg will sit as he dragged him down in foursomes earlier. The question is will Rahm, Fleetwood and McIlroy all go 5 and the answer looks like yes with probably Hojgaard sitting all day.

    I would forecast -

    1. Rahm/Straka
    2. Fleetwood/Rose
    3. McIlroy/Lowry
    4. Fitz/Hatton

Or they could swap and play Hatton/Lowry and McIlroy/Fitz who've played together before and maybe Hovland will come in for Rahm or Fleetwood.

On the US side, much will hinge on how these morning foursomes matches finish up but honestly it's time to tear up the script for Bradley and go for broke (is it worth going with DeChambeau/Scheffler and Thomas/Young first two matches and hoping for the best)

Anyways I imagine he will go with -

    1. Scheffler/Spaun
    2. Thomas/Young
    3. Cantlay/Burns
    4. DeChambeau/Morikawa maybe with Griffin sitting?

Honestly Scheffler/DeChambeau and Spaun/Griffin might be worth a shout. Morikawa might get a chance in fourballs but English, Schauffele and Henley will sit.

Was waiting for Rory to bite....building

That was glorious, they are scumbags. Ollie Holt had a tweet up about the abuse he is getting this morning “vicious, personal, thuggish edge to it”

And the commentators saying how well behaved the American crowd are and that it’s just a bit of Banter .. a lot of personal abuse been aimed at the European players and internationally shoot at players mid swing is just scumbag behaviour .
Course officials should be doing more..

There will be a standoff at some stage where a player will refuse to hit until the crowd shuts up, forcing them to do something about it…I hope

Quite a few of the US crowd are reflections of their fearless leader...grim

750 dollars a day to get in. Obviously a lot of corporate tickets and free drink. The price prohibits the average golf fan from attending.

Terrible again from Hoveland. Should have been dropped for today after his display yesterday.

I like him, but that was a terrible shot at such an important stage.

What a putt to save it. That took some guts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,413 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

That putt has earned him a reprieve I think. Can't lose now.

Left the putt on the last a distance away too but has just made up for the two mistakes with a brilliant putt.
