Thought this was quite decent with Vodafone.

    1000033376.png

    T&C's:

For new Revolut Metal customers only.

To be eligible for the offer, customers need to upgrade to a Metal plan and remain on the Metal plan for a minimum of 3 months.

The €50 welcome bonus will be paid in the following month.

    IE residents only.

Available to new and existing Revolut customers.

Revolut Bank UAB is authorised and regulated by the Bank of Lithuania in the Republic of Lithuania and by the European Central Bank and is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland for conduct of business rules. AER = Annual Earning Rate. Revolut Metal is a paid plan charged at €15.99/month.

    See full T&Cs here: https://www.revolut.com/en-IE/legal/metal-plan-promotion/

So Metal is €15.99 / month and you get your bonus of €50 after 3 months.. so it's seems pretty much free, right?

    Right?

However, if it seems too good to be true.. well, I do think there is a "break fee" if you cancel a plan within 12 months but can't find specifics. It may just be the cost of the subscription for a final month - as below:

Fees for downgrading your Metal subscription

You can end your Paid Metal Plan subscription at any time (we call this a downgrade). However, you may have to pay a fee. You'll still be able to benefit from the services you get for your subscription until the end of the billing cycle you have paid a subscription for, excluding any break fee. So if you pay your subscription monthly and decide to downgrade, you’ll be able to keep using the subscription within the month that you’ve already paid for; if you pay annually, you’ll have access to your subscription until the end of that annual billing cycle. After then, you'll become a Standard user again (a personal account holder who does not pay a subscription for the Paid Plan service).

EDIT: Ah, just found this here..

If you downgrade after 14 days but within 10 months for any other Paid Plan customers

If you pay your subscription in monthly instalments, we won't make any refund and you'll have to pay the subscription for the month in which you tell us you'd like to end or downgrade your subscription. We'll also charge a break fee equal to two months' subscription. This is a break fee and you will not be able to benefit from the services for an additional two months, you’ll only be able to continue using your subscription for the rest of the monthly billing cycle that you’ve paid for.

So you probably need to weigh up if the extra €30 for a break fee, provided you get the €50 bonus, is worth it for the 3 months.

Might still be worth it especially with some of the benefits including the sleek metal card and..

Withdraw up to €800 per month with no additional fees

Unlimited currency exchange with no additional fees, including on weekends

Earn up to 2.5% AER (variable) interest on your savings

Save 40% on international transfer fees

Covered for winter sport, travel, car hire, and personal liability

Revoult paid plans can be great value if you make good use of the perks.

ClassPass recently added Jump Juice to it's services in Ireland. For 2 credits you can get a medium smoothie or juice. So that's 5 free drinks per month on Revoult's Metal plan (10 credits per month). Only downside is you need to book a slot at a Jump Juice store at least one hour in advance.

Thanks @gunnerfitzy i'm currently on metal and had no idea about the classpass - no interest in fitness, but a couple of free juices….ok!

3 credits per juice just checked there - but still 3 juices!

ClassPass is one of those Revolut benefits I think few people use in Ireland. In the past I used my credits for occasional gym visits and acupuncture sessions. Lots of more options in Dublin with different fitness, wellness, beauty and food/drink outlets.

All the Jump Juice stores in Cork are still 2 credits per juice/smoothie but I can see other stores around the country are indeed 3/4 credits.

Just signed up there - I was due to start paying for foreign currency transactions so upgraded. Went for Metal due to the various benefits.

Classpass could be useful for food. There are loads of Poke and Healthy Eating places in London on it… 8 - 10 credits (ie: your whole monthly allotment) for food but thats about a 10 to 12 euro meal straight away, out of the 15 per month I am paying for Metal.

Was a little tempted with Ultra but for me theres likely not enough benefit to getting the lounge access.

Pretty good deal if you were thinking of upgrading anyway. Revolut have a decent savings account rate and they handle the DIRT for you which is handy. I was considering moving from N26 to Revolut since the N26 savings rate fell off a cliff and this deal pushed me over the edge so I've signed up.

Do you sign up on the VF website or in the Revolut app?

Edit: got it through the app.

Class Pass has also just added WeWork, you need to pay an extra 3e (it costs 11 credits, Class Pass gives you 10 free with revolut). That means between that and the WeWork account, you get two nearly free WeWork passes a month. It's handy for remote workers, or if you want to work when travelling, and WeWork has free barista coffee until 3pm, and free beer/cider until 6pm. I ended up using it today as we ran out of hot-desking space in my own office. Also, with Metal, you can increase the amount of Revolut Points you can earn. I transferred my bills and groceries to Revolut, and earned enough points to cover a big chunk of long haul flights with British Airways.

If you're collecting RevPoints on Metal then it's worth considering the Revoult credit card for your purchases. The points awarded double from 1 point per €2 with debit card to 1 point per €1 with the credit card. Potentially, you could get double the points. The only cost with the credit card, once you pay the balance off in time etc, is the €30 government stamp duty.

How do you sign up for this offer? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

In the VF app in the Happy section.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 106 ✭✭jasper1422

Thanks, do you need to be a VF customer or is it there anyway for someone to get this offer if there not a VF customer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,423 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Does says "Exclusive To VF Customers" so assuming not.

Here is the core link from VF Happy.

Not sure if there is any VF verification process

when you sign up via the vodafone link, do it show that you activated the €50 signup bonus…

As I didn’t see this explicitly stated anywhere…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 106 ✭✭jasper1422

No mention of anything when I signed up through the link. I will know in 3 months if anything comes back!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 633 ✭✭✭theintern

I downloaded the ToCs and took a screenshot of signing up in case there's issues down the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53 ✭✭Bellsandwhistles

    good idea

    I’ll do this now :)

I signed up anyways for the year, as there was an extra % off if you pay upfront. €155 for the year, less the €50 cash back, equates to €8.75 per month.

I signed up for class pass and I’m also delighted to be earning more rev-points

Yeah if you put a bit of savings in there too, the extra interest means it should pay for itself. Saves you money on travel insurance too.

Coming up to 3 months now. Has anyone had the €50 paid and were you charged to downgrade?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 633 ✭✭✭theintern

No sign yet from what I can see, but I didn't sign up three full months ago yet. Anyone get their 50 quid?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭garyskeepers

So myself and the family are heading away to Spain for 10 days on Friday. We are going to pay everything on revolut. So all drinks and food etc. and whatever rubbish we buy in the shops.

    currently on Plus… I should really upgrade shouldn't i ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,423 ✭✭✭✭Basq

    Depends.

Since they're obviously in the Euro zone, no FX conversion so you could use any Irish debit or credit card for majority of transactions, and wouldn't make a difference. You'd benefit from cheaper ATM withdrawals.. potentially (€200 fee free a month but often find these "fee free" machines a challenge to find).

Revolut I find more beneficial when when you're not dealing in Euros. You won't save much with larger transactions with all those bottles of water or snacks being bought as groceries add up.

I contacted online chat today to follow up on this, as today is my 3 month ‘anniversary’.

I requested to chat with a live agent instead of the chat bot. I advised that I was requesting an update on the €50 cashback due today for signing up to the Revolut metal plan through the Vodafone invite and Revolut influencers referral program. And noted that I could provide screenshots if needed.

2-3 minute wait while they checked out my query with the advanced specialist team, and then boom, lodged the funds to my account :)

So if you haven’t received the funds, it might be worthwhile getting onto them directly.

Just make sure if you do use Metal that you don't lose access to the various benefits through inactivity.

I signed up, got Classpass sorted, then ended up not using it for a month. The company now does not seem to have a membership for me and is trying to charge me for the points you use on the website as if I didn't have a membership. Need to chase it on the Revolut end, ridiculous carry on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 311 ✭✭matzen

I tried but they told me that in order to be eligible you have to be a new customer and reside in Greece. Unfortunately I don't have screenshots of me signing up via the VF app under the Happy section (tho I def did), so looks like in out of luck. Did think it was too good to be true at the time...

Hey Matzen - if you haven't already tried it, send them this link and tell them you signed up with it https://www.revolut.com/en-IE/promo/metal-vodafone/

I had a screenshot but they also asked for the link
