Why is the attitude towards underage GAA coaches so negative?

    Yes - when you put it like that, from u6 to Minor, thats a 12 year commitment. Though most people dont think of that starting out. In our group - by the time we got to U16, maybe a quarter of the coaching group had been there since the start. None of the female coaches continued into CCC2.

    People fall away from coaching for various reasons. I'd say the biggest reason is that their own child may lose interest and stop playing. There can be fallouts between coaches that can also lead to people stopping coaching e.g they can't get on with another coach or an incident with a player or parent can put people off and they can say it's not worth the hassle. Also a coach might just have a particularly poor group of players or a group that are not committed and they can lose interest.
