It's probably been a bit of a mystery to a lot of U.S. citizens why Europeans have been paying so much attention to Trump during his presidencies. For me, it's based on how Trump has completely upturned the apple barrel cart where it come to the ties the U.S has had with Europe for at least 80 years, of not to WWI guaranteeing a Trans-Atlantic reasonable level of peace, decorum & good trading.

Trump has been complaining that Europe has been robbing and cheating the U.S. for decades and vowed to change that. What I see is a man who's business record is abysmal and who can't talk to other world leaders, not just the European ones without a raised vice mouthing abuse as his method of dialogue, be it in trade or diplomatic relationships. He's a liar who's word seems to be good to a huge portion of U.S citizens, which amazes me, while the rest don't want to give him their votes.

It's a mystery to me as to why the U.S would think the rest of the world should take Trump's abuse, and abuse it is, as acceptable. It is not acceptable. Trump has wrecked almost every medium of dialogue and trade between the U.S and the rest of the world, inclusive of China.

Presently he's engaged with world power leaders allegedly seeking peace deals with them, while they are wanted before the international courts of justice for war crimes, without a hope of them agreeing to peace. All that is for the media and MAGA without his being genuinely intent on forcing the criminals to peace.

I'm not interested in the war between the GOP and the Dems which Trump wants to continue for the sake of holding onto power, like Putin and Netanyahu are. I want the U.S to really wake up and expel Trump and his crew from the U.S body politic and give the the world a chance to get back on an even keel. Most of the B/S interrupting the stability of the world is down to Trump.

Even those of strong belief in the U.S accept this to be the truth or there would not have been so many rifle-fire attempts on his life from U.S. citizens. Pick him up and lock him up before he turns your country, the U.S. into a corpse the world will reject.

Reports FBI was investigating Tom Homan, the immigration czar, over receiving $50,000 from undercover FBI agents last year. Under Trump the investigation has stalled.

Except it was some on here, including Trump and his cohort of administration scum, having wet dreams it was a Democrat or someone from the left that shot Kirk. You can see Trump`s own disappointment that Robinson was from his MAGA gene pool within a few days when asked about Kirk, all he wanted to talk about was his bestest ballroom ever.

But even now we have some hanging around here hoping that Robinson was somehow radicalized by the left to shoot Kirk. Even after the FBI finding absolutely nothing to even indicate it. So if it was by this mysterious left cult how did they do it, by carrier pigeon, or perhaps, following Bondi`s latest brain fart, by hand signals ?

Robinson shot Kirk for no other reason than due to his own personal life, and Kirk is now another number to add the numbers he believed were necessary to keep the Second Amendment how he saw it.

From what he said himself in text and from what his mother said, had there been a sympathetic ear for him, who knows things may have worked out differently. But with him coming from a deep MAGA and Mormon family that was not going to happen.

In a sane society, there'd have been an investigation and perhaps indictment, trial, conviction.

Why bother under CFTrump? If it got as far as a trial, there'd be a pardon, count on it.

Gosh .And I never thought he looked dodgy at all. Straight shooter, no nonsense.

    I blame the loony left.

White House briefing is laughable at the moment. You'd swear thr Republicans were God's representatives on earth and The Democrats were evil incarnate.

It's like as if they want women to suffer. The original report was like "take it if you need it but don't take more than you need"

Which has been the advice for all medicines for a long while now “What is there that is not poison? All things are poison and nothing is without poison. Solely the dose determines that a thing is not a poison,” - Paracelsus (1493–1541)

    https://ehjournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12940-025-01208-0

While this association warrants caution, untreated maternal fever and pain pose risks such as neural tube defects and preterm birth, necessitating a balanced approach. We recommend judicious acetaminophen use—lowest effective dose, shortest duration—under medical guidance, tailored to individual risk–benefit assessments, rather than a broad limitation.

Also the risk-of-bias bars are quite wide.

When you see the reader at the podium reading the word according to Trump wearing a cross, you know she's trying to keep the heathen media at bay.

US President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he would help defend Poland and the Baltic states if Russia keeps escalating.

Answering a question by a journalist from the Italian news agency Ansa on whether the US would come to the aid of its NATO allies on the border with Russia, Trump said, “Yeah, I would. I would.” Sotto voce words "like hell" followed…

    FUD.

Fear Uncertainty Doubt. It's all part of the plan to muddy the waters.

The alternative is to outsource the majority of those jobs. With advances in robotics even surgeons could dial it in.

Jobs in America mean taxes collected in America and wages spent in America.

Outsourcing also means reduced skills transfer to the US.

Europe will attract a lot of the talent that can't get to the US.

In the Nixon administration, VP Spiro Agnew had to resign over bribery. No longer the most corrupt US administration.

Hyperbole. one alternative is to outsource. Another is to hire US grads of which there are many perfectly well qualified.

If there's someone rare, like a high level specifically skilled neursurgeon, o.k. fine to bring that in, but that's not what's happening. Big Corp is gaming the system and has for decades.

It's funny how the deflection was back on Bidens administration and the weaponisation of the DOJ when asked about Homan. To then infer Kash Patels FBI is somehow a clean organisation was a bit of a stretch. It really is a pantomime.

You should know by now that if the alternative is to outsource things to cheaper countries then companies will do so.

This is the same idea that tariffs will convince companies to build their factories in the US, when in reality they'll just move production to cheaper countries and pass the tariffs on to the American customers.

Speaker Mike Johnson has cancelled all votes. Trump has ordered him not to talk to Democrats. This will lead to a government shutdown. Ben Meiselas suggests a link to stop a house vote on releasing the Epstein files.

Democrats now believe by a 3 to 1 ratio that the Kirk shooter was right wing. They're living in an alternative reality.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,621 ✭✭✭CelticRambler

Phil Moorhouse pointed out yesterday that there's an easy way to get around the requirement : pay a bribe to Trump & Co. Exemptions to the fee are entirely at the discretion of the White House, and can be applied to individuals, business entities or whole sectors of industry. All it needs is a convincing … "argument"

Nothing to do with controlling immigration or protecting American jobs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,555 ✭✭✭✭Jelle1880

That's right, it's definitely just the Democrats that are living in an alternative reality lmao

edit: Bro. 33% isn't a 3/1 ratio. Is this why people believe Trump's nonsense about tariffs, basic misunderstanding of math ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,785 ✭✭✭amandstu

It looks like 3 to 1 don't it?

Alternative facts plus alternative math and Bob's your auntie.

Half a dozen of one is a dozen halves.

An employer can only apply for a H1B visa where they can't fill a open position with an American.

If there were qualified US grads willing to work for what was offered for the position it wouldn't have been open.

This Proclamation: Requires a $100,000 payment to accompany any new H-1B visa petitions submitted after 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time on September 21, 2025

Outsourcing is cheaper and less risk than paying 100k for a lottery ticket overseen by crooks.

You seem to have forgotten that trump who walked into women’s locker rooms to see young girls naked.

Do you think trump is rescuing young girls from pedophiles in this photo?

No wrongdoing. It was a setup by Biden's FBI, but the government brain trust back then didn't seem to understand he wasn't even working for the government at the time so their was nothing he could offer them except some expertise as a private citizen. Nice gift from the Biden government to him if it actually happened, wouldn't you say.

It seems that Trump's AG, Pam Bondi, disagreed with his feelings about the Fed prosecutor who didn't pursue some of his Democrat opponents with prosecutions because there was not enough evidence to ensure convictions in court. Trump wanted rid of the prosecutor for defying him and forced him out by attacking his decision publicly. The Prosecutor resigned and then Trump lies by saying there was no resignation, that he fired the prosecutor.

Trump has a track record for lying, when the facts don't suit him, as in "he was fired, he didn't resign". Trump then followed this up by appointing a lawyer he knows to replace the prosecutor. AFAIK, the new prosecutor appointment has to be approved by congress but that's most probably a foregone conclusion.

What remains now to be seen; if AG Bondi repeats to Trump the same the former prosecutor said, there is not enough evidence in the case to ensure convictions in court, will the new prosecutor do Trump's bidding and lose her first case in court or look at the evidence and tell Trump they'd lose in court.

Will Trump lose the plot and go after Bondi purely out of anger for "not obeying him" and fire her and her deputy who also sided in the decision of the resigned prosecutor? He has made such a public row of this that he may find it near impossible to worm his way out of the mess he's created.

    Kimmel is back Tuesday

Der Furher Trump wont be happy

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

Leavitt just said that the tariffs have brought in 9 trillion dollars haha

They can't even lie correctly. 9 trillion is more than the GDP of every country on the world apart from the US or China.

If true then all the claims that Trump forced them to cancel Kimmel was just a bunch of bullcrap. So now Kimmel can continue to cause ABC to lose money each and every week because of declining viewership, and ABC can say… thank you, can I have another.
