There's no way CC is fit to be president. Utterances like claiming Hamas are part of the fabric of Palestinian society and being critical of the PM of our nearest neighbour and closest ally is a great start to her campaign.

People rightly point out that MDH has been vocal on the ongoing ethnic cleansing of Gaza. And he has been right in doing so. But he did so in a very diplomatically disciplined way which is key. CC is unfit to be president of Ireland and Im confident now that will become apparent before polling day.

In fairness- a lot of the Irish presidential election will be filled with word salads from all candidates - that’s the nature of the position in some respects.

But the defence of Catherine Connolly here on every word she says is just funny at this stage - the faux “hurt” and “offence” that posters are churning out on behalf of their beloved Catherine - Blessings upon her-.are farcical .
Of course not a word about abuse against Jim Gavins family - but state a fact like Catherine Connollys hair is disheveled and it’s like you said something untoward against their mother. 😀

Just watched his news interview. My god, he is a terrible speaker. Presidential he certainly isn't.
