How many cut throat goal chances have we missed in this second half?

And as with Hojiland, the supply isn't there. The crossing and passing has been absolutely abysmal.

You can tell they've been told to do things in training, so they just blindly do what they've been told even knowing a cross or a pass is not on. When they don't take on a pass we get slow, short sideways and backwards passes.

This is a team doing what they've been told to do regardless of the situation. It's absolutely demoralising to watch, I can only imagine what its like to be actually playing.

Hes leaving us in a much better state than he found us so fair play to him for that.

Possibly the one of the worst tactical managers we've had, insisting on a broken system that he refuses to even try to fix.

We do not have the quality of players for a 2 man midfield.

I like Amorim alot and really wanted it to work for him but how can he not see that his system won't work with what he has available in the middle of the park. Its a critical area in his system.

    4-2-3-1 would work wonders.

I really wanted it to work out for Amorim and I'll back him until the day it's done. I just feel that day is very close.

Lose to Chelsea and he's gone imo.

City at home to Napoli and away to Arsenal next , think they will struggle in both those games and put todays result in perspective.

In the pre match interview Amorin said City are a team who like to play narrow and we have the opportunity to get into rhe gaps behind. Am I blind, cause I haven't seen this?

Were these really his tactics, or was he purposely talking shite so as not to give away his tactics. And if they were really his tactics, wtf is he doing giving them away in the pre match interview?

Its just 4 league games into the season. After a summer where the club recruited an entire new forward line for around £200M.

I don't honestly believe they will or should pull the trigger right now and sack him so soon. And I say that as someone who is absolutely not impressed with what RA has brought.

On the other hand, he might decide himself to just walk now. He seems to be an emotional guy and could make a snap decision.

Looking at United's fixtures there and I really don't fancy them against anyone now.

Yeah I thought exactly the same. It worried me as it sounded like he was showing off. Which is absolutely fine…as long as it's after the game and you've won it.

4 games and already 8 off Liverpool

    I hate this team.

Can't judge Sesko to be fair to him because we didn't get one ball in to him. Haaland wouldn't score in that team playing the way we did today

This second half has truly broken me. I always backed ETH, I've always backed Amorim. I believe they are both good coaches. But at this point, I don't want to say I don't care cos that will never be the case but I just dont have any answers anymore.

Is the manager? Sure lets sack the manager.

Is it the system? Sure lets change the system.

Is the players? Sure lets change the players.

I feel like nothing is going to change at this point no matter what changes we make

Are the stats anyway misleading? Not watching it, luckily at a kids party. My two boys wearing Mbuemo jerseys

I've backed all the managers....but this one.

We have a formation and tactics that have been proven to be extremely easy to beat, even by the lowest of teams, and a manager that refuses to change tactics and formation.

It's a no brainer. We will be relegated otherwise. Mad thst that is not an exaggeration.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,002 ✭✭✭secman

Never laid a glove on them. Really really poor, no excuses for such a poor performance especially from the manager, terrible team and even worse subs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭BenK

Not trying to defend Amorim at all but we really don't have the players required in the middle of the park either. He was definitely let down there in the summer.

None of the combinations are anywhere near good enough. Obviously Amorim's system exacerbates this too but it was negligent not signing midfielders. Or an experienced keeper.

It was over after Grimsby. It's not working. It's not going to work. All the club are doing now is wasting another season, by delaying the inevitable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,008 ✭✭✭AidoEirE

Nothing wrong with their jersey name, Mbeumo again was the better of the players on the pitch today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,679 ✭✭✭✭FourFourRED

Honestly don’t even worry about it. Go on and enjoy your day. Nothing about today was pretty and worth looking back on.

its a huge issue. there is no bit of fight or aggression in this team, far too nice. and bruno as leader has to take some of the blame for that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,736 ✭✭✭✭JRant

Any manager that persists with Bruno in a midfield 2 gets what he deserves IMO. All this noise about systems and players is just noise. If your manager continues to play square pegs in round holes then it doesn't really matter about anything else. Like, why did he move Amad and Mbeumo only to play Maz at RWB when the most sensible thing was leave that alone amd move Bruno up to the 10. But no, he wants to prove the world he knows better amd can make a midfielder out of a 31 year with the positional sense of a compass sitting on a magnet.

Think we all know we need big changes.I would love to see Bruno dropped as captain.…not sure who I'd have as a replacement but I think we have changed everything else and nothing has worked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,789 ✭✭✭Thepoet85

I agree. Can't see how he turns this around. Sad days

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,409 ✭✭✭caviardreams

    Felt sorry for Mbeumo today.

I was so hopeful going into this season and supportive of Amorim but it's just hard to see where the turnaround is going to come. Sad times :(

Was it the city fans singing the RA song ironically or was it utds fans? Hard to tell.

Might help him keep his job if it was the utd fans. When the core travelling fans are still supporting him it says alot I think.

That could make the difference alright. Probably scrape a 1-0 win if De Ligt was captain today.
