Thanks for that post. That will be a good job for the area .

Now if they could stop people throwing/leaving rubbish around that would be great as well. While I know there's bins there they're usually to far away for people to put their rubbish into. Or else full like they were this morning.

    Hi all,

I am doing a little painting project, I am going to paint my stool, which I made in school (long time ago now!), which is wooden. I'm not knowledgeable about painting and DIY, so I need advice on what type of paint to use. Out of the DIY shops in town, which one would be the best to ask for advice?

What type of timber is it. What type of use if any will get. Is it more ornamental or functional.

This could/will determine what paint to use. If it's functional, then you'll need a primer and a harder wearing finish like satinwood. If it's just ornamental then you could look at something like chalk paint.

All the hardware stores will have primers and finish coats, saying that I probably wouldn't ask for painting advice in Woodie's.

Hi there. Thanks for your reply. I don't know what type of wood, I just know it's wood and would be suitable for holding objects as stools do.

Here is a picture of it

I’d say go in to Powers or Bob Fitzgeralds in O’Connell st, or Milleas in Irishtown all are more than happy to share their knowledge.

    Clonmel court reports | Facebook

Found this on FB, some absolute crazy stuff on it. Mainly cases from the 80 & 90's. There's loads of cases regarding one of the towns best ever characters & a sound man, Noel O'Brien, god bless him RIP,

    No photo description available.

Legs are made of pine, if you're concerned about the knotts flashing through then you need to put knotting solution on them or prime the whole stool in shellac based primer such as "Bin" primer.

If you're not too concerned then you could prime with water based primer, any the apply a few coats of water based satinwood/eggshell. Don't forget to lightly sand between coats.

The places mentioned will have all you need to do the job. Other places such as Chadwicks and Johnstones will also be able to sort you out.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies😀👍️. I contacted Bob Fitzergerald late last night and got an answer in minutes. I got my tins of paint today. It's going to be painted blue. I need to get some sandpaper (ordered from Woodies, collecting tomorrow) and a paint stirrer (ordered online), and I'm all set!

A lady that works with my daughter was the next car, seen it all happen right in front of her. There was 3 cars involved. One car hit another and spun it causing it to hit another one. No one hurt to the best of my knowledge. Just a lot of people late for work 😉
