I'm not disturbed, I'm simply not surprised by the fact that an advocate for gun violence got killed in a violent gun attack. Is the world a better place for his death? Undoubtedly. Did I advocate for his death prior? No. Do I have any sympathy for him? Not one jot. You might think I'm disturbed but that's your problem to correct, not mine.

he lost some support cos he couldnt bench 130 pounds (i think this was the weight) and cuomo now leads in the opinion polls.

    how mad is that?

I think you need to relax the cacks, a bit. I don’t know about you. But I live in Ireland. I have no impact on American politics. I have no vote. American culture is not Irish culture even its most benign elements as such as “American Exceptionalism” are about as far removed from Irish culture you can get.

The only direct influence Trump has on Ireland (besides tariffs) is his golf course. When Trump eventually steps down. It is up to Americans to figure out the direction in which they want to go.

I feel sorry for the Americans two choices every four years (tweddle di and tweedle dum), lobbyists bribing and influencing with representatives. A country of 330m people with an electoral system not fit for purpose.

To be educated in America you need a lot of money, to have healthcare in America you need a lot of money, to stand for high office in America you need a lot of money.

Personally I am just thankful I don’t live in the “home of the brave and land of the free”. Let them at it it is their culture not ours.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Heavens that's a stretch, and completely at odds with what you are quoting.

Old Chuck was AOK with it.

Spare us the crocodile tears and hypocritical pearl clutching. I'm sure you don't even know the names Mark and Melissa Hortman.

Guys like him are mana from heaven to folks like yourself. Love to hate and all that.. gives people purpose I suppose.

    No, he didnt.

Your post is laughable. The left are the cause of so much discourse in the U.S. Their message is clear. Everyone has to agree with their idealogy or else.

The constant call to arms by crazy lefties who go online every day and call for specific people to be murdered is endless.

And yet, in the aftermath of this shooting, it is the right and Kirks allies that are calling for more carnage.

    Says something, doesn't it?

*edit: replying to Apple dumplings video post.

    Not really.

He is trying to frame it has gun volience rather than a political assassation for obvious reasons.

And you think I'm disturbed? Cos that's a whole mess of lies you've fallen for there.

How do you know what he was shot with?

He was personally ok with deaths from shootings in order to retain the 2nd amendment or have you just completely ignored that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,323 ✭✭✭✭markodaly

I tried to look up the very first thing he was supposed to have said, which is "Gay people should be stoned to death"

I didn't find or get anything… so one presumes that its made up, and many of the other things he was meant to have said are either exaggerated, taken out of context or just lies in order to 'other' him.

But that is the deal these days, you define someone in a few soundbites (doesnt matter if its true or not…) so if they are murdered, then you are OK to feel good about it…

The very thing you guys are giving out about, that is the degeneration of the political discourse, is the very thing you are feeding. Ontop of all the misinformation you are consuming and spreading…

It's actually interesting to watch some of Charlie Kirks campus debates. He brought his thoughts & ideals to those who gathered to debate with him, to argue with him, and to listen to him.

Sometimes ideas clashed, sometimes minds were changed, sometimes I would agree with Kirk other times I would strongly disagree, but I still can't understand why anyone would want to murder him as he took questions and debated with students.

Killing Charlie Kirk makes his wife a widow, he also has two young children, now without their father. What the f was the shooter hoping to achieve, and what was his motivation to commit first degree murder. If caught he'll face the death penalty too.

    RIP Charlie Kirk

It is very clear that Trump will "use" this murder for his next political actions.

The Nazis operated in a similar fashion, - autocrats usually do.

Could be another raid on another city, like Chicago or something else, like further tarifs on something, more immigration raids, or something we don't know yet.

The spirit of racial discrimination historically rife in the US and that's expressed in being excluded from buying homes at one time didn't end there - it went to exclusionary hiring policies, enrolment policies, policies on crime and so forth. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies were one way thought up to rectify this social damage. Are they imperfect? Sure. Does that mean they need to be done away with altogether? Not necessarily. Broken things with a utility should be fixed.

If that is genuinely from Medvedev's head and hand, I hope there are people here on the Trump side who can forward it the Trump and his MAGA band. The Left-wing liberal scum mention is a touch too far Trump-ish bot-like to be believable.

The vast majority of Americans support the 2nd amendment.

Has horrifying as this is to us here.

After the Sandyhook shooting I knew if they weren't motivated to heavily restrict guns and or get rid of them they would never get rid of them.

Its such a deranged thing to say that because someone believed the 2nd amendment was worth protecting that its okay for them to be assassinated.

Also, he was killed with a hunting rifle that can be bought all over the world.

    "attack on the mans legacy"

Are you talking about Kirk or Mr. Beast?

I hadn't heard of Kirk before yesterday, but from what I've read since then, it seemed like he made a living by spreading hate on social media?

Mr. Beast I was aware of a little before, but only from a couple of his vids shown by my kids. I think he makes a living by spreading good vibes on Youtube?

I think Mr. Beast is the one with the better legacy.

I'd say they are fed up of being targeted.

What are your thoughts on his belief that abortion is more evil than the holocaust?

    Q. "You believe that abortion is worse than the holocasust?"
A: "They're both distinct evils with some similarities, the holocaust in some ways was far more evil, in terms of magnitude the abortion crime is more evil."
Follow up Q: "So you're comparing abortion to the holocaust?"
A: "Absolutely I am, in fact it's worse, it's worse!"

When is the Republican Party and all Conservatives in America going to realise that everything and I mean everything that Trump touches dies?

Would someone who lived over there be able to answer, can an American ever admit they are wrong?

The lad wasn't even elected and they tried to kill him twice

The first sentence quoted was part of a paragraph and should be read as such. Selective quotation serves no one well. Taking a few words as representative of a full position is the MAGA way.

    On the senond.

My thoughts this evening are with the loved ones of Charlie Kirk.It is heartbreaking that a young family has been robbed of a father and a husband. We must all be free to debate openly and freely without fear - there can be no justification for political violence.

Hardly a tribute. Again misrepresentation is a common MAGA tactic

I think this is meant to cater for the 'Gay people should be stoned to death" quote.

PatriotTakes 🇺🇸 on X: "While criticizing YouTuber Ms. Rachel for quoting “love your neighbor” to defend celebrating pride month, Charlie Kirk quoted a Bible verse used to justify stoning gay people “to death.” Kirk called the stoning verse, “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters.” https://t.co/2b5oHQLmy3" / X

Gods perfect law "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them".

I guess its open to interpretation whether CK indirectly said it, he didn't directly say it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,653 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

Who exactly has said that it's okay for them to be assassinated? You've accused loads of posters of it including myself so point to where exactly we said such a thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,323 ✭✭✭✭markodaly

I have watched the odd video of him debating, not loads, but maybe 3 or 4, because to me, that is all you really need to know about the man and what he stands for.

To preface, I would disagree with the vast majority of what he was saying.

I would disagree with his overt social conservatism.
I would disagree with his views on American isolationism, especially when it came to Ukraine
I would disagree with his views on tariffs and the simplistic narrative of bringing back large scale manufacturing to the US.
I would disagree with his overly simplistic outlook on international affairs.
I would disagree with his views on climate change
(This is not an exhaustive list by the way..)

There would be times, though, I could share his viewpoint and agree.

But isn't that the point? The ability to be able to listen to someone who is willing to share their ideas, agree or disagree with them?

If your ideas can't handle being scrutinised under the spotlight, and debated vigorously and shared in the free marketplace of ideas, then perhaps your ideas are not all that to begin with?
One is free to 100% disagree with Charlie Kirk, but they are not free to murder him or someone else.

It doesn't matter who you are, Charlie Kirk, Shalmdan Rushdie, MLK or Pelosi, you are not allowed to murder someone whom you disagree, and if you feel any way 'good' at the idea of someone you disagree with being murdered, then you are also the problem.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,323 ✭✭✭✭markodaly

I disagree with it, assuming its a real quote and not taken out of context, which most likely is..

Can you me the quote where he says that Gay people should be stoned to death, or was that made up?
