Yep, I still have the same problem. I've paid a sub so it's not that! 🤔

Something strange happened with this thread and post!

The site bugged out and had to post an incomplete post and now can not edit the post.

I was afraid the thread got closed for commenting or something. Wasn't able to see the comment box until I posted it

It's been happening repeatedly across various threads - the only pattern I've been able to find is that it happens more frequently when a link is pasted (but not always).

    See these:

Not sure if its a bug or deliberate, but it seems a bit pointless - randomly in Notifications a thread will be mentioned with 'there are 72 (or other large number) new comments on (whatever) thread'. They are not new, they often go back weeks. What is the point?

Think you are lucky if you have only just noticed this bug. Its been with us since the early days of Vanilla.

Wake me up when it's all over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 30,418 ✭✭✭✭looksee

I haven't only just noticed it, but I have only just got round to mentioning it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,823 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

I get notifications that there are x new posts in threads I've created. The number listed is always waaaay higher than the actual number of posts.

Also, on a different note, the bouncing this weekend has been particularly bad...

This is what a saved draft looks like:

    5TheNaziCartellonSkThestoryofNaziKlausBaButcherofLyo

Also, delete key on android keyboard sometimes doesn't work.

I'm sure Vanilla will be right on it.

Is there any chance of getting the US School shootings thread fixed?

    This one: https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058295752/us-mass-shootings-megathread-read-op/p10

I found in the past if you keep posting something it kicks back in after a few posts. I usually just post "bump" until it catches back up to the correct posts count needed to move to the next page.

    Edit

I just noticed it has 2 blank pages so a mod might be needed!

I just posted on it to ignore the blank pages because the most up to date post was mine so just to carry on posting on page 10 ignoring pages 11 & 12 until they might catch up like in the past with other threads that were the same.

Desktop Chrome Bug on the traitors thread. Start typing a reply and the thread bounces back to linked post!

Yeah, I thought they would have pulled the plug on all the boards modifications to vanilla and left us with plain vanilla but no glitches straight away after the big announcement, then Odhran said it would take a few weeks... What's it been, a couple months now?

Last update on the basic vanilla switch over:-

Regarding the platform update I have a access to beta now but it needs work so I am not going to share that here until that is good enough. ~ Odhran 18-08-2025 05:53PM

On desktop, it says there are (at least) 27 pages of threads in Feedback.

Yes, when you go beyond page 4, there are no threads listed and it just says 'No discussions found'.

Is this just me? Or is it a glitch? Or is there a policy of removing Feedback threads after a certain time has elapsed/a certain number has been reached?

That forum is probably borked ™.

Try manually changing the 4 into a 5 by hand on the forum's URL, sometimes it works (e.g. with Reactions)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,221 ✭✭✭✭Quantum Erasure

I think the mods move them to the feedback archive if there's no further response for a couple of months, not sure why it's showing 27 pages though

I'm pretty sure at least one feedback thread I created hs just disappeared - certainly not showing on my list of Discussions at all.

Anyhow, a minor issue in the overall scheme of things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,964 ✭✭✭✭osarusan

It already changes in the URL - p4, p5, p6, etc.

But still says there are no discussions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,823 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Look, I fully expect this to be ignored as it has been for the last year or whatever, but the bouncing is worse than ever the last couple of days.

Maybe making a site that isn't fundamentally broken might encourage more users @Boards.ie: Mike and @Boards.ie: Odhran ?

Just wondering is this a new feature for pasting links?

    image.png

    As a button?

    I haven't seen it before?

Edit:- Another new tweak to the system is:-

    Haven't tried scheduled content yet!

And don't know yet how to do so!

When I tried to delete 2 drafts I was getting a description called " untitled " with this scheduled comments next to it .

The delete drafts option is completely borked .

In the end I changed both posts and posted them to clear that section .

Do what's happening with the drafts and delete drafts option @Boards.ie: Mike ?

    hi all,

I have been keeping an eye on this thread and I have reported a lot of the issues that have been posted here. New releases have been paused for the site for the moment so we are not seeing the benefits of some bug fixes. Although some how we are seeing new features appear. I have queried this and I am waiting for a response.
much of the development work is being focused elsewhere at the minute.
Hang tight, we will have solutions for these issues soon.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
