20 is what is being reported. They would have some intelligence to back that up.

If it's not 20, it not much less.

What Israel has done is not stupid at all. They abandoned the hostages over a year ago. They have continuously strung along the hostage families - but those families are now acutely aware that the Israeli Govt. has likely sentenced them all to death.

It is also likely that not all bodies, if any, will be recoverable.

Not stupid at all - calculated from day 1.

    Good summary from Jeremy Bowen.

Depressing reading but nail on the head, as always.

Will this attack be the final straw to make the middle east face down Israel and deal with the cancer that was placed in their midst in the late 40s.

If they dont join together and act they can all look forward to an emboldened Israel throwing its weight where ever it feels for decades to come. I cant see Erdoğan liking the prospect of that.

Turkey will leak the truth about the attack in the coming weeks I would guess.

How many countries are left where America would unequivocally condemn an Israeli attack? A shrinking number by the looks of things.

Netanyahu has justified the “precision strike” on Doha saying it was against Hamas’ terrrorism. Indeed, it was clearly terrorism, but by the state of Israel.

Hamas said its senior leadership survived the attacks. 6 people were killed, one of the dead was a member of the Qatar security services, 5 were Hamas (I understand that the 5 took instructions from the senior leadership team).

US has said it had no knowledge of the impending attack to destabilise Gaza peace negotiations. US has a very large military base in Qatar. Superpower US didn’t have some indication ahead of time? Reports are saying 15 Israeli fighter jets were involved.

Trump’s response to this terrorist attack was to talk doublespeak. It just doesn't make any sense to me that Trump was informed * after * the strikes.

This was an Israeli attack on the mediators of a ceasefire - Israel targeted the chief negotiators of the peace talks. It’s demonstrated Netanyahu has no interest in peace. The world can see that Netanyahu’s plan from the beginning (nigh two years ago) was to raze Gaza, and displace Palestinians. World leaders looked away mumbling excuses like “soft diplomacy”, while international laws were left in the dust.

Hamas forced Israel to commit war crimes- therefore Israel is blameless. Another insightful contribution, Sean.

I don’t know the poster (perhaps, they are an agent provocateur?). False statements - lies intentionally crafted to erase the horrors of the rogue state’s genocidal impact on the starving innocent children. Malnourished mothers can’t breastfeed their babies, and critical baby formula has been restricted by Israel.

A spokesperson for Al Aqsa Martyrs hospital in Gaza said they can’t get baby formula anywhere, and it sells for $100 a container. He said there are at least 60,000 pregnant women, suffering from symptoms of anemia, dehydration...

If they hadn’t banned champagne the mullahs might be popping corks in Tehran tonight. Regional proponents of rapprochement with the Satans, little and large, have some explaining to do after this.

I would blame both. The wrongs of others don’t absolve anybody of moral responsibility for their actions. Otherwise we could blame Strongbow for everything we did since.

Highly likely the USA had the ceasefire deal as a ruse to get Hamas leadership in one place for Israel to obliterate them, now they deny knowing but alas it all fits together with Trump threatening Hamas on Sunday while saying Israel had agreed to the deal, there will be no trust afforded to the USA in future.

I'm sorry, but when have they had Gaza and the west bank? Both areas have been under actual or defacto occupation since 1967.

Over a million Israelis live in occupied territory. That's not due to security needs. Moving Israelis into occupied territories doesn't increase the security of Israel. It decreases it.

Listen, Hamas's actions were horrific. I won't defend them. But Hamas didn't even exist when Gaza were first occupied. hamas didn't exist when Israel started with their blockade on gaza. Saying Hamas started this isn't accurate. Yes, they kicked off the latest round of combat, but to say that they started the whole conflict is a bit rich.

And btw, there was a ceasefire in place, with an agreement to return hostages, which Hamas was following. So technically there was peace. And Israel broke that ceasefire, not Hamas.

It seems Israel missed the negotiating team, though 5 were killed. Also they did inform the US first, but too late for the US to inform Qatar

Qatar did not call the UNSC meeting which is curious.

The UN Security Council will convene an emergency session, at the request of Algeria and Pakistan, to discuss Israel’s strikes on a residential compound in Doha.

The EU interrupted their obsession with Russia to issue a mealy-mouthed statement.

How infantile can it be at this point to compare what's happening in Gaza to WW2 when All the murdering and All the bombing and All the forced starvation is being done by one side? Seriously, get a grip. You have the most blinkered, confused, narrowest, naive mindset of anyone on this thread. It's not a war. It's a one sided murder spree and you know that. Israel are enjoying the killing. Others are too. They are enjoying the terror campaign. And they are gleeful about the genocide.

And for the millionth time, have you ever heard of the Geneva convention?

If you think the Israeli Palestine war was started on October 7th then you are INCREDIBLY ignorant of the reality of the situation.

I suggest you go get yourself educated before embarrassing yourself further with your ill informed views, and start with the definition of an "occupying force"

Lovely bunch of lads. Perfect fit for the Israeli regime.

    Not very smart though:

We emailed Infidels MC for comment. In response, Mr Mulford instructed fellow leaders of the biker gang not to reply but included the BBC when he clicked "reply all" - inadvertently disclosing email addresses and names of fellow Infidels MC members, some of whom were working in Gaza.

So basically - Israel is pre absolved of any responsibility for their actions, up to and including the crime of genocide, because Sean thinks the world began on October 7th. Whatever they do to civilians, no matter how violent and depraved, is the fault of some long ago defeated gang of terrorists.

Do you genuinely not see how incredibly stupid that pov is?

I think the second part of your first sentence taps into it Syd.. with a little bit (well rather a big bit) of R stirred in.

I wouldn't hold out much hope for your second though…

The current Israeli leadership is so unhinged i wouldn't be surprised to hear of this convoy being blown up by the ADF and western governments being too cowardly to condemn them for killing their citizens.

Well you say you haven't seen a single visibly starving Palestinian who didn't already have serious pre existing health conditions.

So you must be over there performing medical examinations on all these people who you claim have pre-existing conditions? Or more likely you're just talking nonsense and sticking your head in the sand parroting Israeli propaganda.

Do you really believe that there is no famine occurring in Gaza?

No of course there isn't because of one picture that you've seen.

Ignore all the above and thousands of other news reports and keep the head in the sand.

Seems Ursula has promised to tear Israel a new one. Again…

    RTE:

Ms von der Leyen also delivered her harshest criticism of Israel to date, saying she would propose sanctions on extremist Jewish settlers in the West Bank, and the suspension of the trade element of the EU-Israel Association Agreement.
