He's a golden child of America

I understand them showing the celebs that are there but find it really odd they keep just focusing on him, why? What are they hoping for?

Even I've heard of Stephen Curry (despite not following the NBA), but I had no idea what he looked like.

Alcaraz is just one hold away from the title.

Unbelievable tennis from Alcaraz. His 1st serves were quality. So many winners too. Brilliant performance

Wasn't expecting to get to bed so early I have to say!

NBA is one of the big 3 sports in the US: tennis would be niche in comparison. Steph Curry as a spectator would be more interesting to US audiences than the Sinner Alcaraz match.

Also, just the fourth man (and I suspect the youngest) to win at least two slams on each of the three surfaces, after Wilander*, Nadal and Djokovic.

*Yes, Mats Wilander, which may come as a shock to some.

That's a fairly efficient looking golf swing he has to boot!

    Ivan Lendl 😍

He was my absolute hero when I was playing as a teenager!

Two of his Australian Open titles were played on grass.

God, the speechifying by the players has to be the most boring thing ever - the same formula trotted out every single time 🙄

And I'm fascinated by the struggle to find a PC term for the ball "personnel" - they seem to have settled on "ball kids" - but there's a few I've seen through the tournament (and other tournaments) who are a few years past being kids!!

Delighted to hear that the US will have nothing to do with the towel nonsense that's crept back in lately, and here's hoping others will follow suit.

Wilander never won Wimbledon, but the first two of his three Australian Open title were on the grass at Kooyong. He won his third in 1988, first year it was played on hard courts at Melbourne Park.

Mine was Stefan Edberg. I loved his style of playing.

Delighted Alcaraz won today, he was brilliant I thought, he's such an exciting player to watch aswell. Sinner made a huge number of uncharacteristic errors I thought but i guess the pressure coming from the other side of the net can cause mistakes like that.

Mine was Becker. Think it was all the diving on the grass when he first broke onto the scene. :)

Delighted Alcaraz won, some feat to have won 6 slams by the age of 22.

I am worried though, Alcaraz and Sinner seem to miles ahead of the pack and it will get pretty boring if we just have Alcaraz and Sinner playing each other in the finals. The only other player to make a Slam final this year was Zverev back in Australia, since then it has been the Alcaraz/Sinner show. Badly need some more talent to step up, even in the Federer/Nadal era we had Murray, Wawrinka, Del Potro, Berdych, Tsonga, Ferrer and couple of others who could take on Federer and Nadal but at the moment I don't think there is anyone, Medvedev and Tsitsipas seem to have gone backwards, Zverev like Draper don't seem to have mental toughness and the game to go toe to toe with Alcaraz and Sinner. If one of them gets injured the other will clean up.

Until yesterday I regarded Federer as the best player I have ever watched playing tennis. With the improvement in Alcaraz's serve and focus, he's overtaken Federer in my opinion. He's like a hybrid of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, with their best traits combined.

I bet all the thousands who paid a fortune for tickets and missed the first set are only delighted

Looking back, Wawrinka winning three grand slams in that era is perhaps the most under-rated achievement in all of sport. Bet the world no.1 in the three finals as well.
