Novak is toast I'm afraid. Clearly, his injury is now seriously hampering him as well.

All over. Alcaraz has not dropped a set so far. Sinner might still be the favourite though, unless he somehow comes a cropper tonight.

This has to be the end of Djokovic now. He won't win another slam unless both Alcaraz and Sinner are not there.

Speaking of Sinner he won the first set 6-1.

He's talking about playing all the slams again next season. You'll miss him when he's gone so fair to play to him if he does, and you never know Alcaraz/Sinner could miss some of the season through injury (maybe another ban in Sinner's case) at which point he'd have a shot.

Winner tomorrow will be World No 1. In fairness to Djokovic he will be back to No 4 in rankings next week. Not bad for his age.

The fact that Djokovic can even compete that well at nearly 40 is just unreal. Those first two sets were very close, only the fact that Djokovic served so poorly in tie break that would have been one set all. The reality is physically there is too much wear and tear on the body at 38. He has played something like 1,400 ATP matches in his career, just imagine the strain on the body competing at that top level for 20 years!!

You could genuinely argue that Djokovic is the 3rd best player in the world right now and he only plays in slam events these days and very few if any matches / tournaments to even prep.

He will never be matched in my opinion, I can't see Sinner and Alcaraz playing Djokovics current level as they approach 40. Will only know about 15-20 years from now

The current top 10 in mens game truly is the worst I have ever seen

Sinner is the youngest ever to reach all four grand slam finals in a year. Wish I could could get excited about what he's achieving, but there is (and always will be) huge question marks over him. I don't believe his version of events about how the clostebol entered his system, and watching him reunite with the same fitness coach who was allegedly responsible for the failed test in the first place.... nah. I think he doped intentionally and got caught. The whole thing stinks tbh, and don't think I'll ever be able to root for him again.

Sabalenka 2-1 up in the final. Hopefully Anisimova can now get into this.

Sabalenka to serve for the match

Sabalenka wins 7-3 in the tie break in the 2nd set

Happy Sabalenka won, thought she was going to choke it away after missing the smash at 30-30 when she was serving for the match.Would have been an incredibly tough year for her to lose 3 grand slam finals in the same year.Amazing to think that Sabalenka won because of the unforced errors her opponent made, usually she loses because of the unforced errors she makes.

Anisimova complaining about the lights was a bit ridiculous , seemed quite mentally weak to let that affect her when they're the same for every match.

Men's final delayed by 30 minutes due to enhanced security measures. Trump is attending 🥴

What're we thinking for the match? Sinner in four I reckon, unfortunately.

And broadcasters aren't allowed transmit any booing or trouble if when there is any!

I also can see Sinner doing it, but I wouldn't put it past Carlos to up his game either….. but I wouldn't be putting next week's wages on it!

WWell This is all going rather well so far!

Can Alcaraz possibly keep this level of aggression and brilliance going for another 2 sets??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24 JM2300

Sinner not at his best so far.

It's like the scorelines from Ye Olden Days, when even in a four or five-set match, the set scores were mostly lop-sided.
