I would let Dom or Gunther be his final opponent if no Edge or The Rock

Yes his farewell tour hasn't been great, some dubious opponent choices like for my, why Lesnar and Logan Paul, and Cody twice , shame KO is injured

Could definitely see him making a star of Dom or even Logan.

I'm so happy Cena has paved a serious way for himself with the acting gig. Means we are less like to see an habitual return. There is nothing I despise more than an annual shock return of Austin, Hogan, Rock or even Taker.

It has gotten to a stage where some of the legends are around so much they could be classed as part timers.

I got bored of Takers once a year cameo even before his run of show stealers with HBK and Trippers.

So will be coaxed for Mania 43

If I was Cena I’d be lining up a blood money cheque with at least nine zeros on it.

”What’s best for the business” is the loyal Saudi fans seeing their hero.

I was gonna say I can see him headling the Hall of Fame next year which would also be in Saudi, but then realised that's the following year.

But I think he may stick to his guns. He doesn't need the money, as far as I know and he's got a pretty good acting career.

So do people here think he'll be the HoF headliner next year?

that was awful tbh….the whole tour was screwed by that "heel turn" with no sense and eventual nonsense faceturn…

Suppose we can just forget about 'storylines' for the last few months of Cena

Vs Styles was pulled out of there Billy Gunn

    Vs Edge is not happening

Does Cena need to be in the War Games match at survivor series ?

If you want to sit ringside for his last match on Saturday Nights Main Event you will have to fork out $11,500.

TKO are really now aiming for the court side NBA audience who can and do fork out thousands to be seen.

None the wiser of who Cena's last opponent will be

Can't see The Rock wrestling a match but can see him sticking his break back into it (you saw nothing at Elimination Chamber nothing)

A prickish Rollins after winning the Crown Jewel ring could work. Use the Rollins chumps so Orton etc can safe the day

One regret i have about Cena's career is them not doing prime Cena vs prime Undertaker at WrestleMania

The match we did get was pretty meh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 528 ✭✭✭Apple Dumpling

So reports now it with be a tournament to determine Cena ‘s last opponent and Gunther is going to be the winner.

Reminds of the career mode in one of the old video games where it was a tournament to face Undertaker at WrestleMania

Wonder will they add to it and say 'the winner also gets number 30 in the rumble' etc

Talk of them wanting Cena to be World Champ again

Only way I think it might work is Cody enters and wins the tournament then losing it to Cena at SNME. Cody then snaps creating 'Heel American Nightmare'

Sure, adding Cody would add an extra level to the mix if he does work Cena. However i dont think Cena would accept winning.

The age old tradition is your first and last matches are on your back. I dont think John would tarnish his last match by using his political pull to win because that is what it would be seen as.

Even Goldberg who is often seen as having quite the ego left on his back.

I don’t think Cena should lose his last match.

    1000363550.jpg

Final 2 are LA Knight and Gunther for the right to face Cena in his last match

Gunther destroying Knight going in as a killer is best for business

Wonder will he try to keep himself in decent shape when he retires ?

Suppose his type of acting roles he'd need to keep fit

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 289 ✭✭The Subliminal Verses

yeah, like its really gonna be his "last match" he'll be rolled out at wrestlemanias and royal rumbles for the next decade

So Cena has stated that he is opening the SNME show with his match rather than being the end of the show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,628 ✭✭✭Chip Whitley

That's weird isn't it. It's his last ever match, and once it's over, the show literally goes on. There should be a proper farewell with pyro and everything as he leaves the ring and leaving his gear in the ring post-match should be the last visual for the show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,754 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Hmm, with NXT talent involved you'd have to wonder about the main event then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,393 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

Jesus just get on with it and go. Comically overrated wrestler anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,565 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Like yourself just want it done and dusted at this stage

No doubt it'll be aka Ric Flair 2008 with everyone coming out on the ramp to clap Cena off. Orton and Trips probably do an awkwardly long hug

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 236 ✭✭CajunSurprise

This should have been the biggest win for the WWE this year and yet they totally balls it up and looks like they will crown it off with a spectacular mess of a final show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,565 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Blame The Rock and Canadian fans for not 'buying enough tickets'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,362 ✭✭✭Ridley

It would have to something pretty amazing to close the show if Cena's not the one at the end of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,739 ✭✭✭✭martingriff

Main event will be Coady and NXT champion then

So Cody will main event against Oba Femi after he beat Cody’s mate Ricky Saints.
