Because this is what he promised the MAGA lunatics who we often see drift to a conspiracy theory that exists only in their head.

They already have their excuses in place for the other convictions, but this is one that trump promised to them that they think will prove their imagination right.

    Thanks for the archive link.

He is so desperate, so pathetic and so weak its disgusting. And dangerous. Does he have no staff with a shred of sense or dignity?

If his followers want to believe there is a shadowy cabal of paedophiles who are secretly running the world, or are trying to do so, I don't think that particularly bothers Trump. In fact, I'm sure he knew all about that idea and plead ignorance on it, like Project 2025.

What his followers likely aren't so married to is this idea that their man is on the client list or participated with Epstein in perversity. So, regarding Maxwell, her testimony, as non-credible as it is, is the tiniest breeze needed to make the MAGA ship drift away from the rocks of Trump being turned against.

I don't keep up with the daily chatter of the MAGA world and what they're all talking about, but I'm not getting the sense that the story continues to animate them in the way it did when it broke a while back. There's been time to inject the usual FUD, red herrings and simply to get a bit bored of it. Trump has a DOJ and FBI whose heads are fully loyal to him. If there is evidence which implicates Trump and it is material those organisations have access to, there is little chance that anyone is going to see it in its totality while Trump is in office.

Once again - would be happy to be wrong, here.

The Maxwell interview was so nakedly corrupt its ridiculous. I don't think they even bothered to give an 'official' reason for moving her from her maximum security prison to her cushy hotel prison.

Opinions ? Is that newspeak for "lies"

The two perjury charges, which were dropped after Maxwell’s conviction for sex trafficking to avoid the need for a second trial,

Could these perjury charges be reinstated if Trump gives her a pardon for the sex trafficking ?

Of course they aren't listening to the opinions of the victims.

Considering how many times the National Guard has been called on the streets for one reason or another over the past few years including for the George Floyd riots (let alone anything else post 1970s like LA), and how few times they have shot innocent people in all those years, whilst the fear is not entirely unfounded, it does seem pretty unlikely.

I suspect that were the federal government not paying for the deployment to DC, the various states which sent their Guardsmen to DC would not have done so. Different states may have different considerations for the activation of soldiers under state status. However, should the DC move be considered a success by the Administration, given their stated intention to roll out to other cities we may see federal funds diverted to be available to their use. I find it unlikely that they will be sent to cities like Chicago given political opposition at the state level (regardless of Trump's statements on the matter), but even cities in Republican states may present issue. Trump has the authority to order the DC police to incorporate the Guard for law eforcement purposes, I am unsure if Reeve ( R Governor) has the authority to order Jackson PD (D Mayor) to incorporate the Guard, for example.

Precedent seems to show no particular requirement to warrant such use of troops, neither do directional trends: Two obvious recent examples are New York and New Mexico.

March 2024, New York sends 750 Guardsmen to New York City to address crime (or the perception of crime, depending on who you are). December 2024, with crime dropping, Hochul reinforces what she perceives as success and authorises an additional 250, patrolling around with their rifles and sidearms.

    https://abc7ny.com/post/governor-kathy-hochul-deploys-scores-additional-troops-new-york-city-subways/15673461/

March 2025. Albuquerque drops homicides by 50% over the previous year's Q1, robberies down 30%, bringing the crime rate below the national average.

    https://www.koat.com/article/albuquerque-sees-decrease-in-crimes-across-the-board-for-q1-2025-koat/64720344

April 2025. Governor Lujan declares state of emergency for Albuquerque, deploys national guard.

    https://www.governor.state.nm.us/2025/04/08/governor-authorizes-national-guard-to-support-albuquerque-police-department/

New Mexico Guardsmen however are being used in a support role in polo shirts, but the crime rate dropping so significantly did not deter the declaration of the state of emergency.

Who could have expected such corruption from an administration whose president has an office bedecked in gold fixtures, and his mugshot sitting in a frame just outside the oval office? And who launched a cryptocurrency, only to make off with the profits when it crashed while ordinary investors lost out?

Who, except absolutely every human being on the planet, including those in comas, and, in fact, all organisms with a central nervous system?

If you love your coffee bean no harm in stocking up before the Trump tariffs effect hits our shelves.

Although obviously we're not imposing tariffs on Brazil the Trump tariff force Brazilian coffee producers to sign long term non USD contracts with growing Chinese coffee chains like Luckin which has the most coffee stores globablly.

As Brazil is the biggest producer of coffee these deals withdraw a significant supply from the USD traded market which has resulted in a price 30% increase since Trump's 50% tariff on Brazil took effect.

This withdrawal of produce from the USD traded markets will affect our suppliers if they don't establish non USD trades in the product, although a continued weakening of the USD will eat some of the dollar inflation for Euro buyers.

It's a perfect example of Trump tariffs rewiring the global supply chains away from the USD.

Not happy with just being a fanboy attempting to justify Trump`s lies on violent crime rates rising in Washington when last year they fell by over 30% and are continuing to fall this year, you are now joining in claiming that homicides are higher than the last time he left office.

In 2020 there were 198 homicides in Washington, (a 19% increase under Trump compared to 2019). In 2024 there were 190 and had declined this year by 12% before Trump deployed troops on the streets and federalised the police force.

At this point there can be no excuses or denials that Trump is politicising the military for his own benefits. Something you seemingly have no problem with from your remark that doing the same in New York as Washington would have benifits and you would have no problem marching along to the beat of your Liar-In-Chief`s drum.

Trump has now also name checked both New York and Boston. New York had a homicide rate of 4.7 in 2024 and for the first 5 months of this year had the lowest number of shooting and murders in it`s history. The homicide rate in Boston for 2024 was even lower at 3.7. (Source : RIT Centre for Public Safety Initiatives).

By comparison the homicide rate for St Louis was 54.4 and for Memphis 48.6. So why are you and Trump ignoring these cities with many multiples of the homicide rates of New York and Boston if sending in the military and federalising police forces is this magic cure. Is it because they are in Red States whereas New York and Boston are in Blue States ?

Surely if reducing the homicide rate in the US were a priority, wouldn't the first step be to remove the main tools used to kill (i.e. gun control)?

Their priority is to figure out how many extra guns are needed for the homicide rate to drop. If it doesn't drop, they haven't got enough guns yet.

No, that makes no sense at all......

In fairness there are so many logically opposed decisions and decision making in this administration.

Trump wasn't too concerned about violence and blood shed in Washington on January the 6th and indeed didn't believe it were legally possible to call in the national guard to deal with it.

At this point, after the antics of the past few months, I wonder if the Epstein files IS the distraction from everything else that is going on, as opposed to the other way round. People seem obsessed with them when it's more likely that his name is in there it's less likely at this point that there is anything incriminating there or action would have been taken already.

It's more likely a decision was made not to release them based on the fact that the opposition would focus on this aspect of his persona, while he carried out far more worrying actions, of which there have been many, with almost impunity while people continue to focus on the irrelevant (in the whole scheme of things) Epstein files release.

Some of that stuff that has happened, the whole putin meeting charade, firing senior officials whose reports have gone against their desired narrative, the military take over of a number of politically opposed cities, the redrawing of electorial lines the list goes on.....the further back atrocities have almost been forgotten about. The crypto scam and lunch, the jet, the big beautiful destructive bill, etc etc

The news cycle just moves too fast. The democrats seem completely hamstrung and there doesnt appear to be any strong voice or group of voices coming from there with Harris more interested in selling a book......

I know it's been said many many times but jesus the country is heading for some seriously rough times..the whole geopolitical.and economic landscape has been upended and there will be long term effects for US citizens as a result.

The best distraction from outrageous behaviour (Epstein) is constant outrageous behavior.

Has the damage already been done?

Have there been any polls as to whether there has been any disaffection from Trump and his political supporters as a result of their failure to release the "Epstein files" after this had been the understanding in those quarters that this would definitely happen?

Fairly clear that any incriminating evidence against Trump might be well buried (if it exists) but Trump is "acting guilty" for sure..

AI Overview The Apprentice was not canceled, but its final season with Donald Trump as host, The Celebrity Apprentice, was not renewed after the network, NBC, severed ties with him in 2015 due to his "derogatory statements" about Mexican immigrants when announcing his presidential bid. The show continued with Arnold Schwarzenegger as host in 2017, though it too was eventually canceled, and there was a subsequent biopic film titled The Apprentice, which Trump attempted to block from release.

Maybe the Dems should have a chat with NBC guy who dumped Trump.

Have seen Apprentice movie, ends when he starts to think he could become Pres, it is very good and catches his despicable character very well, the marital rape scene with Ivana is horrific but very credible, felt sure he repeated many times, Stormy at the recent fraud trial said she let him have his way, so she could get out of the room.

    Hami Ami

odeosrntSpu4414l98cta21 f9f14g18a7aat4:6 i06l7J 5mm3ly21c8u6  · Breaking News  · SigmaMusicArt  · News reports from 2016 indicate a woman using the pseudonym "Jane Doe," and also referred to as "Katie Johnson" in some earlier reports, filed a lawsuit accusing Donald Trump of sexually abusing and raping her when she was 13 years old in 1994. Specifically, the lawsuit alleged that Trump, along with Jeffrey Epstein, lured the plaintiff to sex parties at Epstein's residence in Manhattan with promises of a modeling career and cash. Jane Doe claimed Trump had sexual contact with her at four parties, and at the fourth encounter, he tied her to a bed, exposed himself, and forcibly raped her. According to the lawsuit, when she pleaded with him to stop, Trump allegedly struck her and screamed that he would do whatever he wanted. The lawsuit also claimed that after the alleged rape, Trump threatened her and her family with harm or death if she revealed any details of the abuse. The case was initially filed in California, dismissed, refiled in New York in June 2016, and then again in September 2016. However, the lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed in November 2016, with the plaintiff citing fears for her life and the lives of her family due to threats. Trump's attorneys have denied the allegations, calling them false and frivolous.

Definitely sounds like Trump modus operandi and his lawyers.

MAGA seem more upset that Ukrainians are capable of striking Russia with homegrown weapons than the fact that Putin deliberately targeted a US owned electronics factory

Little doubt any member of the press/media who would dare ask questions on this, would be kicked out and their press pass immediately withdrawn.

We seem to be importing a lot of produce directly from Brazil these days. Very good selection and good value in Swords Pavilions SuperValu... This taken today, which represents just a part of it.

    Epstein is distraction too.

Flooding the zone is part of the playbook.

Halting construction on a $4Bn dollar windfarm that's 80% compete. Ørsted is a Danish company. But it's OK. Eviscerating tax collectors meant that Doge saved about a third of that.

So Mr. Orange Buffon why not start at the top?

Could it be because they are Republican Governors? Or that they all have 2 Republican Senators?

Any chance that has anything to do with it?
