Seen the show in Newcastle Wednesday night. Was very very good

Flicked through the vid - was a bit brutal, least engaged audience ever

I am going tonight (I was at oasis too) and the start just looks so dull!

Matt Berninger of The National is playing Vicar Street tonight - you might be better off there.

But it’s Robbie I bought tickets to see? You don’t think the opening looks dull? Ok!

Watching a show recorded on a phone and live could be 2 different things. I was at Robbies gig in 3arena couple of years ago. All his talking about his take that and solo career was fun. Then watched the recorded show of the same tour, but in a different venue. It was like day and night. Looked dull alright. Going there tonight in a group of 8. We will have fun. I'm more of a rock, punk rock fan, but Robbie has something that we all like.

The left-over bucket/cowboy hat sellers are already setting up shop. I'll be staying home, closing my windows and turning up the volume.

Hope everyone enjoys the gig was humming and hawing bout getting tickets this week but just can’t do the journey to Dublin after been there last week. Can’t believe so many tickets still available and Ticketmaster still selling restricted view seats for €175 madness.

Loads of middle aged women around town in the usual hang outs (Keogh's, Davy Byrne's etc).

Probably his target audience to be fair.

In fairness to him, he is a great entertainer, a real showman.

Do you think Robbie Williams will show up in person.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Seems to only be restricted view tickets left on Ticketmaster. A bit surprised he is playing Croker given he was playing the 3Arena last time but I suppose he's so many hits from the 90s and 00s that he falls into the pop legend heritage act and nostalgia seems to sell more now than ever. He does have a reputation as a great entertainer. Always remember how good his Slane gig was back in the 90s when it was shown live on sky.

I think he still holds the record for the biggest concert in Irish history when he played Phoenix Park to 135,000 in 2003.

I didn't even know this concert was on til I heard a radio ad for it last week. Kinda surprised he would still fill Croke Park. I am probably his target audience in a lot of ways, and I haven't heard anyone I know talking about going.

I was never a fan of this sort of music, but my friends were, and I always found him to be a great entertainer who always put on a good show. We saw him in Slane 98 and 99, The Point in 1999, I think, and Lansdowne Road in 2001, maybe.

I hope the rain clears off for any of ye going and that it's a great night out.

Yeah there has been very little coverage of the gig happening. I haven't even heard many radio adverts so that usually means it's either sold out or not enough tickets left to warrant the promotes spending money on ads. Always a pain when big gigs don't sell out and we are bombarded with radio ads for months. Neil Diamond and Michael Buble both come to mind as two acts that had endless radio ads for I think the Aviva, it was relentless.

    More than "a bit" 😣.

I'm not a fan of Robbie and wouldn't go even if offered a free ticket. But my god, I feel for him with that crowd 🫣

    Didn't intend posting mid gig.

    Holy Mother of Divine Jaysus.

That version of John Kander / Fred Ebb's "New York New York" Robbie and his incredible band (with brass section) have just pumped out to a packed 80k stadium is the greatest ever version I have heard of that song. Worth every cent of the €125 ticket price alone. Unf**kingreal.

A moment akin to (by all accounts) last weekend.

Unexpectedly breathtaking from start to finish.

Slane prediction for 2026 (in honour of the Late Lord Mountcharles and gigs gone by):

    Headliner: Oasis

    Support: Robbie Williams

Rifts can be healed (at the right price).

No one coming along to replace them.

    You read it here first.
