Price for supply and fitting tyres

I noticed my rear tyre was 13 years old. So I had a look online for prices and I could see prices range from €100-200 depending on brand etc.

I rang up a shop in south Dublin and they quoted me €280 to supply and fit https://www.tyreleader.ie/motorbike-tyres/metzeler/roadtec-z6/180-55-zr17-73w-263974

I did go ahead with it as I wanted it done but I feel the charge for labour €170 was a bit on the high side. I said it to a friend and made the point that the price I'm paying is for them to fit me in and not doing more profitable work.

Should I have shopped around a bit more or was that a fair price?

prices of the same tyre in a different size can vary massively. Are you sure you have checked the tyre in your size online?

Most shops should charge around €50+ but not a lot more, they were taking the proverbial charging that much. Only link I could see is for Ross in Cork but it should be similar in Dublin. http://www.motorcycletyrescork.com/road-tyres/prices.html
