I think its understood Trump wants a weak USD, particularly versus the Euro. He is having a major argument with the Fed because he wants them to cut interest rates, the effect of which would be to further weaken the dollar versus other currencies.

I've heard various rationales such as wanting to make US exports more competitive (weak argument imo) or more crudely he wants to dis-incentivise people taking their USD out of the US and US investments. If you had USD assets in the US in January, the FX rate to the Euro has dropped 15% since then. So if you try to sell up now and move out of USD into Euro you're going to take that 15% loss. Or you leave your USD in US assets and hope for the best.

It's quite a sight when you have a criminal, rapist and serial conman as the "chief law enforcement officer" of the United States. I would genuinely love to be a fly on the wall in Putin's meetings with his security staff. They must spend most of them in absolute stitches, that the American people could be so utterly dumb as to elect this clown as their leader.
