Looking forward to Ania Magliano. Saw her a few months ago and she was very good. Only one I've never heard of is Phil Ellis.

Ania Magliano is brilliant, have been to see her three times and was in hysterics each time. Such a talented comedian and her humour will hit the spot on the show.

Maisie Adam is usually great on panel shows and her stand up is cracking too. I'd say she'll be a great addition.

Phil Ellis I know the least about but I think he'll bring John Kearns esque energy which is never bad.

Reece Shearsmith will be brilliant, he's such a talent.

I always love Sanjeev on screen and he has a really warm and soft presence so he'll definitely be fun to watch.

All in all, it's a pretty great cast!

Stevie and Jaon are one of the all time teams.

Surprised it's taken them this long to get Maisie Adam on.. pretty much a staple of the panel show and comedy circuit at this stage.

I saw Ania Magliano on House Of Games and a few other things, and I think she could be very good.

You'd have to imagine that Reece Shearsmith will be similar to his partner-in-crime Steve Pemberton, or at least on the same level of creativity.

Phil Ellis is the only one I'm unfamiliar with, so can't comment on him, but the rest of the lineup looks very good indeed.

As a big fan of League / Psychoville / Inside No 9 and having seen them on interviews etc, Reece is a bit more unhinged and less soft-spoken than Steve.

Both hilarious though, and he'll be brilliant on Taskmaster I reckon.

I gave up after the Mae Martin season, nearly ruined the show for me. Occasionally dipping into season 17 for Steve Pemberton, binge watched season 19 today for Jason Mantzoukas..... an all timer of a season.

watching every individual have a breakdown at different times, Javie Martzoukas being adorable, Fathia being **** but entertaining and a very worthy winner, just a very good season.

I have also developed crushes on both Rosie and Stevie for very different reasons.

Season 19 has been a great kick up the arse the show has needed, after the feeling that it had got a bit lacklustre the last while. I loved everyone on it, and there wasn't really a dud episode. The finale if anything was the weakest, at a push. The tasks for the most part were fun and felt fresh most of the time.

I hope they can continue this momentum into season 20.

tickets for the studio went FAST, totally missed it. Anyone here get some?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 13,809 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

The paid tickets were gone within 8 minutes. Dates didn't suit me so I'm not too sad but I was surprised how quickly they were gone.

Tickets for studio recording? I thought they were free

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,985 ✭✭✭corcaigh07

Guaranteed entry tickets went up for 15 pound each with proceeds going to charity.

Not surprised this last series (season) gave it a boost.

UK Series 20 starts Thursday 11th September.

Given the larger gap between Series 18 and Series 19 than normal - more than likely due to Junior series - this pleases me!

Very good opening episode, Greg scoring the nice v disgusting task was very funny.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 36,546 ✭✭✭✭Penn

Yeah decent first episode. Seems like a good mix of different types and ways of thinking, studio banter was great.

Phil Ellis is going to be immense fun. His opening line.

"What is the softest thing in the universe?"

"The hands and voices of the elderly!"

Slightly anticlimactic tonight compared to last week. Team task wasn't great, live task was good though.

Sanjeev just going through the motions

yeah, team task was weird. Too complicated, and no real pay off

They’re good in the studio though

    I loved Reece's effort in the bag/surprise task. 😄

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 36,546 ✭✭✭✭Penn

The team task and even the senses tasks are ones where they become practically impossible to actually have any success in. Maisie had hoovers for hands and they still knocked the figure off the flour and won no points. And unless you picked sight as the sense for the objects task you had no hope of not mostly guessing (or in Reese's case, guessing one too many times and talking himself out of acceptable answers).

But they're a likeable and enjoyable bunch who are giving it their all anyway.

Richard Herring has re-uploaded the hilarious RHLSTP with Reece Shearsmith, from a year or two back, which is honestly just an excellent watch to how see how angered and unhinged Reece can be.

Recommended if you're a fan of Reece, Inside No. 9 or just a casual TM watcher.
