This is really good so far. Though from memory they dump the worst tasks into episodes 3/4/5 so might be a downturn this week. But really great so far, Jason and Matthew look legendary, and Stevie/Rosie good fun.

Fatiha unfortunately as bad as feared. Quite how they looked at her similarly disinterested efforts on David Mitchells outdoor TM thing and decided she was good to go is baffling.

The "disinterested" thing can work sometimes. Liza Tarbuck in particular just very often taking the shortest route to get something done and walk off was usually very good, but it needs to be balanced with ingenuity; that you've still somewhat completed the task and in a way that might get you points, or at least in just doing the task as quickly as possible there's a chaotic energy to it that at least makes it funny. While Liza was often disinterested in the task, she was at least trying to make herself laugh. Jo Brand too.

Still willing to give Fatiha a chance as in some tasks she's been alright. In fairness when it came to the balloons in the live task, a lot of people really, really hate/fear balloons popping, and she was clear she didn't want to pick the balloons and only ended up with them due to everyone having to swap both items.

Jo and David Baddiel lived off that slow and steady disinterested energy.

G: YOU STOPPED HALF-WAY FOR A FCUKIN SANDWICH

David: I didn't know we were timed

    Jo: I did, I just didn't care.

The fact they still came close to the disaster that was Ed/Rose/Katie make it even more legendary.

Loved last week's episode again. The tasks have largely been very good so far with some good studio tasks (last year had some fairly brutal studio tasks if I remember correctly)

Really high on Matthew, Stevie and Jason - they're brilliant. Rosie is growing on me too and between the four of them, they could be one of the better mixes if they keep it up. Fatiha…as I predicted is just there. Said it before it started that her 'unbovvered bruv' shtick would get very boring very fast and it has.

As others have pointed out, you can be a brilliant contestant even if you're putting no effort in, once you're funny and you get the mood right but so far she's putting barely any effort in and just isn't funny - pretty sure that nearly every time I've laughed when she's been the focus has been because of other people's responses. Still plenty of time for her to turn it around though but jeez she needs to try a bit harder on both fronts.

To pull off the disinterested approach you need to have been around the block for a while. Julian Clary springs to mind first for me.

It's a pity they don't do the studio reaction shots anymore, would have worked well on the pixilated footage of Matthew

And I thought phil wang was bad lol....literal balls hanging out ha ha

Interesting take on that here.. Andy Devonshire's decision to not do them anymore apparently.

But yeah, I agree. Hilarious moment!

Another solid episode to be fair.. zero point all-around tasks are often frustrating, but that was fun.

One of the best prize and team tasks in a while, very good episode overall. Not a fan of live tasks where someone gets eliminated before they even get a go, kinda defeats the purpose

Bar Fatiha, it’s been a great season so far.

Yeah great episode. Some decent laughs. Jason Mantzoukas hasn't disappointed anyway, but most of the others have been really strong too. Especially enjoying Stevie, I think she's been absolutely brilliant. Though I was surprised she got points in the mannequin task as they very clearly showed her missing a Shush or two and she never tiptoed (but I think most of them stopped tiptoeing after the first minute or so, so I'm guessing they just let them all away with it).

Haven’t watched last nights episode but while here do as little as possible shtick is annoying some of her interactions in the studio have been quite good. Definitely the worst contestant but not awful within the group. It’s a good series with good contestants and challenges overall

Yeah i don't mind Fatiha too much…. she was annoying the first couple of episodes but is growing on me a bit.

Really good series overall so far. They are all really good in the studio bits too, hopping off each other.

Another great episode this week. Shaping up to be one of the better UK series. Tasks have largely been very good including the studio tasks which are much better this year. Greg and Alex are great this year. Also am enjoying the "stop looking under the table" envelope this year. Loving Matthew, Jason and Stevie, they're top tier contestants. Rosie has grown on me and I'm enjoying her general daftness.

My partner has no idea who any of the cast were this season, she really like Mathew, Rosie and Stevie. She thinks that Jason is being too "American and the constant shouting is annoying". She actually loves Fatiha more with each episode, she was sceptical after episode 1 but her in studio has won her over.

Overall, I think it's a shaping up to be a great season, plenty of proper laugh out loud moments in every episode.

Thought that was another great episode. Tasks weren't that great, but they led to some great moments all the same. The monster task was a bit too hectic to enjoy, but the "We were the monsters" discussion more than made up for it.

    Yeah, tasks were poor.

The monster one was all too manic.. simplest tasks are often the best.

    But some great moments regardless.

I know there's a new season on but I only started watching this during the week, when I was told to watch season 7.

Jessica Knappett's impression of an air horn might be the funniest thing I have ever heard. Genuinely thought my ribs were going to break I was laughing so hard at it.

The tasks are too wordy and there's too many ways to get caught out but the contestants are really good. Probably the best season since Dara's one

This episode had the Best on stage celebration too

it’s one of the best seasons I can remember. All 5 add something different and they’re blending very well. Half best pals, half sworn enemies

Can’t warm to Fatiha but other than that, great season and the tasks have improved again after a bit of a dip in recent seasons.

I think in general it’s the studio interactions that really make a series really good.
The series is really good for that so far.

Just copped the monsters licence Rosie found was "WOW Monster"

Really good series so far. A great group of people, with Stevie Martin being the standout for me so far. I wasn’t sure if Rosie Ramsey would be a good fit for the show, but she’s been great. Fatiha needs to do more for me. The "bruv" routine is getting boring now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,592 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Rosie has grown on me every week.

The 'I just got a bit horny' comment nearly killed me in the studio task.

Matthew is one of the most endearing contestants yet.

In a similar vein to TM, "Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee" (Aussie version) is back for a new season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,840 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Not a brilliant episode this evening.. tasks were middling enough, but did really enjoy the live studio task - simple great fun!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,380 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

I liked Fatiya being the only one to focus on "teach" and not think "torture".

Shame Rhod didn't get that task. Alex would have been branded!

    Also another great quote

Jason: I'm ready for a long task Alex, I'll be here for 30 minutes.

    1hr 40 minutes later....
