I know exactly what I'm talking about, which in this case, is rabid antisemitism rants on an Irish forum.

Zionism is a political movement that supports the self-determination and statehood for the Jewish people in their ancestral homeland, the Land of Israel.

It has nothing to do with Christian Evangelicals whether they support it or not, Balfour included. It was, and is, a Jewish political asperation formulated by a Jew, Herzl, for Jews, that asperation being a Jewish homeland.

Modern Zionism represents the desire for millions of Jews around the world to protect a homeland in the land of Palestine, their ancesteral home. No more, no less. Again, nothing to do with the judgement day fantasies of Christians anywhere, no matter how supportive they are of its existance or why.

Zionism is no more inherently evil than any people's desire for their own homeland.

What is undoubably as racist as it is antidemitic is the assserttion that the Jewish desire for a country is inexplicably 'evil' in some undefined manner, and that the Jews who advocate for it are 'fundamentally 'evil' in nature.

As usual, in this desire for their own country, Jews are singled out for being intrinsically evil for daring to aspire to a fundamental right that other nations deem most dear. I also noticed you have yet to define how a Zionist desire for a country is evil, but a similar Palestinian one isn't.

As for your assertion that you didn't call Jews 'evil', you are simply hiding behind the figleaf that if you substitute the word 'Zionist' for the word 'Jew' you can isuue such bigitory, and broadcast every known antisemitic trope under the sun and get away with it.

It is also a calumny to declare that Israel, one of the most multicultural states in the Middle East with Christian, Arabs, Muslims, Druze, Armenians and others, is an ethnostate, or that it has any desire to be one.

2 Million Arabs live in Israel. Not a solitary Jew in Gaza. Now, there is a good example of a ethnically cleansed ethnostate.

She's been sanctioned by the US for her peristant antisemitic comments.

If you can't see her for what she is, if you stand by her statements, that's up to you.

Here's a UN report oh her. She lied publically about her 'reappointment.'

10 Members of European Parliament (France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Czechia,Slovakia, Bulgaria) (April 3, 2025): “Ms. Albanese’s reappointment to the world’s highesthuman rights body would be a grave and dangerous mistake.

In April 2025, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinianterritories, Francesca Albanese, shared on her social media a post claiming that the “UNhuman rights council voted to keep her in the position as UN rapporteur for the Palestinianterritories till 2028!.” In fact, however, no such vote ever took place. At best, Ms. Albanese could possibly claim that several stakeholders consider that herreappointment took place tacitly, in the absence of any vote or debate about her record ofnon-compliance.

But you like her there, spouting her antisemitism, so leave her in situ.

Don't know. Bibi will weigh things up. If he feels, having sent the troops back in, that he can push for a quick victiory he'll probably ignore it.

I have no idea what she goes off the rails about. I saw her on rte news a few months back, and one or twice since about that Thurnberg flotilla.

And again, I don't believe that quote (and apologies if I'm taking it out of context if her other quotes prove me wrong), but she seems to be saying that Hamas are not all fighters or terrorists and she is absolutely correct. I'd argue the people who carried out Oct 7th and the politicians who ordered them are legitimate targets for Israel, but again, not the doctors, nurses, teacher, ambulance drivers etc that are being killed by Israel as being "Hamas". They are warcrimes.

A simple question, do you believe a Gazan doctor, who works day in day out in a hospital treating the sick and wounded from his community is a legitimate target, as he works for Hamas?

I'd ask again you answer the question and not ignore it and give me 10 more.

If you followed her you would soon be in no doubt as to where her loyalties lie.

Does someone who works for Hamas and helps their war effort not deserve to be a target, even if thay are not running around with a gun?

If they provide safe houses to Hamas, are they not legit targets?

You think Doctors can't be terrorists or sadists. You should read some Jewish accounts of Auschwitz and Mengele. A common refrain of the survivors was, 'They were all doctors.

it’s unbelievably tiring when you’ll jump through hoops and all around in circles, calling anti semitism and giving everyone a biased history lecture but still can’t bring yourself to condemn the collective punishment of millions, the targeted shooting and killing of innocents trying to get food, murder of journalists, doctors and everything else that has been going on for nearly 2 years now.

Paragraph after paragraph about Israel’s right to exist, but ignoring the fact they’ve constantly expanded their borders and are literally chasing innocents off their land. It’s happening right now.

It’s absolutely disgraceful. I honestly don’t know how you people can look at your own kids, after spewing nonsense day after day to justify the killing of innocents the way you do.

I'll take your word for it and retract if she is as you say.

But again, you are putting words in my mouth. I never said doctors cant be sadists or saying a doctor cant work for Hamas as a combatant.

I'm asking you is a doctor, who works day in day out in a hospital treating the sick and wounded from his community a legitimate target, as he works for Hamas?

You should be able to answer the question without adding legs to it. You can also substitute doctor with nurse, teacher, ambulance driver etc etc. Are they legitimate targets by virtue of them being employed by Hamas, or is targeting such people a warcrime?

What a complete load of nonsense.

I think anyone with even a shred of intelligence can differentiate between "an aspiration for a Jewish state" and "an aspiration for a Jewish state whilst completely **** over a pre-existing population". There is a world of difference between the two ideas, but the creation of Israel falls very much into the latter camp, which is why it is viewed as evil. There was not a push for a Jewish state from those already living in the Middle-East before Zionism, and it was pretty much a European movement. In general, outside of colonial projects, immigrants don't get their own country within 30 years of moving somewhere, especially when in the minority. Why would the Arabs not have an aspiration to a state in 1920 when they made up 90% of the population?

It was well known that any attempt to force a Jewish state on the Arab population would require bloodshed and the Zionists never shirked from that possibility at any point.

Nobody has the right to form a state by genocide. The Nakba was the first genocide. The 2nd genocide is happening now in Gaza, and preparations are underway for the 3rd genocide in the west bank.

If Israel can complete these without turning into a failed state themselves, syria, Lebanon and Egypt will be next in line to have their land stolen and natives chased away or killed

You are so full of **** that it's not even worth tackling these points. Not once have you actually provided any ACTUAL evidence of Albanese being anti-Semitic.

So when he does ignore it to avoid his corruption trial, will you be on here telling us all how disgraceful he is and how he has yet again failed the hostages and their families? Or will you be lecturing us on how bad and evil Hamas is?

Legal experts have pointed out there is no such concept as a country's 'right to exist' under international law : the Irish constitution makes no such claim, nor does any other country's constitution. It's politically charged gobbledygook churned out by Zionists.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,814 ✭✭✭Bishop of hope

So you're saying that legally no country has a right to exist?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,690 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

International law is mostly concerned with the rights of 'peoples' to exist i.e. the right to self determination of the people (which is recognised in the Irish Constitution - Article 1). Any country that exists, exists….it doesn't need to be stated in their constitution or as a legal concept.

Exactly. International law supports the occupied, refugees, civilians, not the belligerent forces trying to impose rule and expand their 'homeland' that they lay claim over

Fine but can you not apply the same beliefs to Palestinians who are living on their homeland and you are driving them out, starving and killing them in a genocidal frenzy.

AS reported by Channel 12 in Israel.

Aharon Haliva can be heard in newly released audio clips saying that for every person who died during 7 October, “50 Palestinians must die, even if they are children”. The audio clips were aired by Israeli broadcaster Channel 12.

“The fact that there are already 50,000 dead in Gaza is necessary and required for future generations. OK, you humiliated, you slaughtered, you murdered, everything is true,” said the former military chief.

Disproportionate military response has been israeli policy for decades.

Its only possible because they have the unlimited support from America, but they have always fought rocks with bullets, guns with tanks, and if one Israeli is killed, dozens of Palestinians are killed in retaliation.

An Eye for an Eye is part of jewish theology (and old testament Christian theology)

But moral philosophers have long recognized that violence begets more violence. Jesus repudiated the Eye for an Eye dogma with 'turn the other cheek'

Israel have decided to go down the Joe Pesci route instead, of overreacting to every provocation to an extreme that is supposed to instill fear and have others 'respect' you so much that they will exercise maximum restraint even when provoked themselves.

Its a strategy that can work on paper, but it costs you in other ways. It instils violence, and is the policy of an unhinged lunatic.

Well, israel controls everything and everyone into and out of Gaza, so if there are no jews there, then that's down to the israelis. How antisemitic of them…

I see very little difference between Zionist expansion in Palestine and Lebensraum in Eastern Europe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 653 ✭✭✭Lawlesz

That quote about no Jews in Gaza is honestly one of the stupidest posts I have ever read on this site. Beggars belief that that poster thinks it makes any kind of point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,690 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Yes, and Lebensraum was a policy even before the Final Solution - Hitler was talking about Lebensraum long before he invaded Russia. Such expansion all falls under the general category of 'ethnic cleansing'.

You could almost describe said poster as ignorant but somehow it just doesn't capture their essence.

It's remarkable, isn't it. We walk past people like that every day and never know what they are like.

I know. I should know better than to engage to be honest

    I'm speechless, I shouldn't be, it's a gang of Ben-Gvir supporters, but still.

It's the inevitable result when all someone does is come into a discussion and spew about a load of lies and hysterical bullshit.
