I'm a regular enough poster around here but I went re-reg with this to let you all know about the College Football podcast I have just started called "They're Not Gonna Keep Them Off The Field Tonight"

I have zero experience in this area, I am just someone who is interested in college football and podcasts.

So please forgive the production quality, or lack of it.

I created a handful of episodes just to explain college football, it's history, it's structures etc.

I also created a 2025 season preview and a short episode about Irish guys currently in the FBS.

Have a listen, if you like it please rate it and let your friends know, if you don't like it let me know.

As I said, I'm not a pro and this is my very first stab at anything like this.

I know it's niche but it's something I am interested in so I decided I'd try and share my knowledge and thoughts on it.

During the CFB season I hope to have about 2 or 3 shows out a week.

Wasn't too bad actually. Well done and Good luck with it. You'll know yourself, some editing and scripting will probably improve it and help, but interesting to see how it progresses during the season.

There may be a market this side of the Atlantic for a pod like this with a slight Euro centric focus, eg some focus or features (don't overdo it) on Irish, British and other European or non US players in CFB.

On a broader CFB point there isn’t yet, unfortunately, any confirmation of coverage for the 2025 season, a week and a half out from Week 0. There had been some rumours that Sky had extended what had been a two year deal with ESPN to sublicense their rights (which cover mainly the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 as well as nearly all of the postseason) but as of now there are no games (including Iowa St v KSU in Dublin) in the advanced schedules for Sky Sports+, Action, or Mix on 23rd August.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll be touching it up as the weeks go on, it's all a learning curve for me.

I've tried scripting it and reading from the script but when I listened back I sounded like someone reading the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans at Mass, just a dry monotone, so I tried to be a bit more "conversational"

But more time in front of the mic should hopefully being a more confident delivery.

I'll be keeping an eye on the few Irish players in FBS also.

Even though I listened back to it loads of times I failed to spot that I once called the Netflix doc Any Given Sunday instead of Any Given Saturday , I forgot Ross Boogers first name and called the BC Lions of the CFL the BC Eagles.

This is much more difficult than I thought.

I'm not rerecording it, it can stay up there, I'll get better.

Do you mean one from the NCAA? No, at least not one that’s available in Ireland. Individual teams and conferences might have their own mind.

For one app covering all of college football, the ESPN app is as near to official as it gets I’m afraid.
