Ugarte with a shot that deserved a laugh at. I know ya seen it fan boys.

Arsenal were blessed and only for a keeper that looked for a free for nothing, we’d have been ok.

    We’ve a great team

I reckon we'll put in a bid for baleba this week.

Can't go forward with this midfield for the season.

But we are also desperate for a keeper.

Utter negligence not having signed a keeper this summer.

We're not even asking for an Allison or a Courtois. Just an average PL keeper.

It's more likely than not that one of our keepers will cost a goal going into a game. It's ridiculous.

How could you look forward to a game knowing that...

De Ligt was outstanding. Mount was very good. Sesko early days for him. Ugarte is not good enough

Lost a bit of way when Mount came off imo. I dont know how you fit Bruno, Mount, Mbeumo, Cuhna and Sesko in a team.

We were all over them all game, Sesko will come good cause he'll get on those chances we created especially the first half, had no1 in the box.

Amad had to start over Dalot.

Mbeumo and Cuhna look a deadly partnership. Very exciting.

    Defence did well.

Keeper situation needs to be looked at.

Having Bruno, as much as I o9ve the man doesnt work as an 8, especially this season with one gane a week.

Baleba and Wharton partnership in mod would be a Carrick and Flecther type duo.

A lot of positives deserved the draw.

Raya was very good and it goes to show how a quality keeper wins you games.

Need a midfielder and a goalkeeper. Knew that already but confirmed again by that game. Played well overall though. Deserved a draw but with a weak goalkeeper you get a loss.

If your takeaway from today is “we lost at home” that’s very sad. Today was a huge improvement on what we’ve been used to and a good sign for what’s to come.

You can’t get behind Amorim, fair enough but the majority will.

Stokenal, that's a good one 😀. Closed the game out nice and handy, united unorganised chaos in the box

We were the only team interested in playing football today. Not sure what the fck Gary Neville was talking about Odegaard being the best midfielder on the pitch today. So many encouraging performances and you can already see the patterns of play that have developed over preseason.

I mean the GK situation would be laughable if it wasn't so serious at this point

I have a feeling Mbeumo and Cunha are going to be crowd favourites.

Some of Cunha's touches and runs were edge-of-your-seat stuff.

In fairness I think you were the only team that could play football today, Arsenal still looked like they were on holiday

Mount was good at midfielder things. We needed a striker.

The manager's outfield team selection was certainly justified. You have to give him credit for that.

Bringing on Ugarte when we're chasing a game was baffling though, as is his man management in general but that's for another day.

I thought Arsenal came for a one nil. They didn't come to outplay us but got the result they wanted.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

The sub on 80 mins summed up how the season will go. You're 1-0 down at home, and look to the bench?

Do you (a) bring on Zirkzee and stick another body up front, (b) bring on Mainoo and try to create something, change the shape up a bit?

Or bring on another defender because at the end of the day, what matters more than the result is playing 3-4-3, because you won the league like that playing against teams that no one ever heard of

Dalot surely can't be starting going forward. He was very poor, second only to Ugarte.

Ugarte while limited has a few things going for him but that cameo was utterly hopeless.

I wonder is he sulking over the Baleba links and hence the sudden dire levels. That was beyond words

Frustrating we didn’t even come away with a point when we were the much better side. Just felt like one of those days where the ball wouldn’t drop kindly to us in the box.

As we all knew, our keeper and cm need to be strengthened before the end of the window.

Cunha and Mbeumo were very exciting, the difference when Cunha is in that LAM channel is huge.

Arsenal are a terrible watch, not interested in playing half the time, Arteta thinks he can shithouse a league, City or Liverpool go for the jugular and that’s why one of those two will win it this season.

    Agreed.

Only negative of the day, other than the result, is that he thought it reasonable to bring on Ugarte before Mainoo.

It’s pretty clear now that one of Mainoo or Amorim won’t be at United 12 months from now which is very disappointing

Neville is a pain in the hole on comms. He goes too far the other way in trying to be unbiased and is reluctant to be positive in anyway to United.

Apparently amad was ill during the week so not considered fit to start

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,173 ✭✭✭NITRO95

I wasn't looking out for him to be positive but now that you say it, I can't recall him being any way positive about Utd during the game. He drooled over Odegaard and Timber for some reason

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,937 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

    Sesko.

He's been training all preaseon. Played twice for rb. Played vs U21 on Sunday and apparently training like an animal all week.

Hes unbelievable and just running forward with the ball. Himself and Mbeumo had some very nice little touches together.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,008 ✭✭✭AidoEirE

Dorgu was brilliant, he has that spot tightened down. Had Saka in his pocket defensively and going forward hes exciting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,961 ✭✭✭✭Zeek12

We're still completely toothless in attack. Zero big chances created with over 60% possession. Against a side who looked like they were still on their holidays.

Arsenal were absolutely awful today…..and we never laid a glove on them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,874 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

But he hadn't played/trained much with the actual senior team.

Its not unusual to ease in a new signing. Ideally we'd have got him in time to make his first cameo against Fiorentina and then contend to start but that wasn't the case.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,008 ✭✭✭AidoEirE

Don't mind it, he could of started and had a stinker like Gyokeres, at home.

Think bringing him on later in the game is the right call.

INEOS should invest in a few thousand pound on euromillions tickets and pray TF there's a winner. €250M sorts your midfield duo out for the next 10+ years and gets a keeper.
