Ugarte has to be one of the worst on-the-ball midfielders we've had in a decade, if not longer.

Despite the scoreline there are a lot more positives than negatives to be taken from today’s performance.

Mbuemo and Cunha have hugely raised the threat level of the attack, showing some classy touches, interplay and good shooting 👏👏

Mount has linked play effectively in an unfamiliar role, midfield haven’t been overrun as could have been.

Defence while being exposed at times have to a man battled gamely.

Between the sticks has yet again proven to be our Achilles heel!😡🙄

Bayindir flapped hopelessly at Rices corner for the deciding goal😳

Neither he nor Onana are good enough.I would genuinely be delighted if Utd even managed to sign a Championship level keeper on loan for the Season.

As he would be a big upgrade on the two ‘players’ mentioned above 😌⬆️

Hell I’d stick the septuagenarian Tom Heaton in goals from next week on!💪😎

Ugarte has been very poor since coming

Is Ugarte tryna play for a move away?

Absolute parody of a footballer in this cameo hes having. Djemba-Djemba-esque.

Ugarte has been Arsenals best player today

This game would make you want to smash the telly, nothing has dropped our way all day

Feel a bit for Mainoo. He's that kinda player that would bring some passion to the last few mins unlike Ugarte.

He really is a complete waste of 50 mill. Zero technical ability and just keeps doing stupid stuff. Get rid of him asap

The ball just won't drop kindly in the box for us.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

The responsibility of this defeat is pretty much fully on the club management. It was negligent not to buy a new goalkeeper during the summer.

Worst player in the pitch by a mile. That long distance shot was laughable.

Arsenal will never have an easier victory at Old Trafford than today.

Game had 0-0 written all over it.

Thought De Ligt did really well today

Why did Bayindir not put his foot through that? He played an absolutely shite pass taking out the momentum

Very good performance for United but disappointing to have no return from it

Far better team, really undeserved defeat. Bodes well going forward though.

More annoyed with that loss than a 3-0 hammering.

    Stokenal deserved nothing.

Now get us a GK and a CM please.

You'd think the new 6ft 5 acquisition up front would be able to do the stuff that desperately pushing Harry up front does

I posted a few weeks back about how if Ugarte gets many minutes this year the season is dead. He got a flurry of people defending him.

    Hopefully all is clear now.

Promising performance but that's on the club for not sorting the goalkeepers position

bitterly disappointing not to get something from that game. Some very good things to be positive about in that performance but at the end of the day its a loss at home.

Arsenal were very good defensively and their keeper did his job, unlike ours, sadly.

GK , DM and cheap backup striker needed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,225 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

    So...

For all those who said that they'd be OK with a narrow defeat provided we saw some improvements in the play.

That's pretty much what we saw isn't it?

Lots of good performances, the selections that got so much stick before the game were justified. Mbeumo & Cunha showed quality as well as bite.

    I 100% think we'll see 2 new signings.

Bad call from the manager not going with Heaton.

Looked decent at times going forward. With the new players and others back from injury, the team looks alright. However, they badly need to do something about the DMF. Ugarte's performance might accelerate that. Also, if Heaton is basically just there to be a cheerleader, they at least need to be looking at getting a better number 2

The goalies the difference in that game.

Raya is quality and deservedly MOTM.

    Bayindir cost us the game.

Plenty of reasons to be positive after that performance though. Did everything but score.

Wed have done better with a striker on breaks rather than no one in the box.

Maguire is a better CCB than de ligt.

    We lost, at home.

2 very good debuts for sure, not fair to rate Sesko yet. Ugarte coming on weakened the team. Great to see desire and energy from pretty much all the players. Once they do same against Fulham.

Other positive is, clear as day how we badly need CM and GK
