1) Trump says he'll end the war on day one. Nope

2) Trump announced this meeting will happen in Russia 3 times in the press conference beforehand when it's in Alaska

3) he tells folks in advance of the meeting how he's going to play it, giving away any strategy he has

4) he tells folks on the day that if its not going well he'll go back to America.... He's in America

5) he rolls out the red carpet and applauds Putin, making Trump look weak

6) absolutely nothing is agreed

7) despite saying that there will be severe consequences for Russia if no deal is reached, there are no consequences (TACO - Russian edition)

8) he holds what is supposed to be a press conference, in which he takes no questions

9) in that meeting, he waffled on with such bullsh1t as this...

"We had an extremely productive meeting. Many points were agreed to. There are just a very few that are left. Some are not that significant. One is probably the most significant. We have a very good chance of getting there. We didn't get there, but we have a good shot of getting there."

10) Putin leaves the country having steamrolled Trump with a big smile on his face, and with sh1t all over Trump's

The argument with Zelensky at the time was caused by Vance being an absolute twat at a public conference. It's also not the only time Trump has behaved poorly with the leader of a nation in a press conference. He consistently fawns over tyrants.

I'm also finding it hilarious that you went onto referring to free elections in Ukraine. There's no indication that Putin has had free elections since the early 2000s.

It's also always somewhat telling which posters tend to have a worship complex for the likes of Putin.

This is less about 2020 (he won 2024 and there was mail-in voting) and instead is some groundwork for trying to end mail-in voting in future elections, in order to win. Added to gerrymandering efforts, voter registrations changes and possible voting machine interference he is taking no chances. He will probably try something else if it looks like he may lose. This is apart from the increasingly unchecked hose of lies and distraction which will increase in volume.

There is no scenario where he loses and accepts a loss.

When it comes to foreign leaders sucking up to Trump, the guy is a textbook narcissist. You either manipulate him with that in mind, or you get meltdowns like Zelensky encountered in February. It is no mystery that objectively better politicians know how to manipulate Trump, whereas Zelensky fails disastrously.

The thing is Ukraine is utterly dependent on the US, and Ukrainian soldiers are utterly dependent on US equipment, funding, intelligence, leadership and training. I know it seems impossible to endure, but it was Zelensky's job to endure Trump and win him over for the sake of those soldiers - not for approval from people on the internet. But Zelensky couldn't do it because he is objectively a bad politician.
