We have 40 acres of marginal land that we would be spraying for horse/bramble and rushes with a knapsack

Also have a weedlicker for rushes.

Handt realised you need to have done a course for both. Would this be enforceable by the dept, would they need to catch you in the act or ask for receipts of spraying man if they saw anything killed back, in unlikely event there was.an inspection.

you need to give your herd number when buying spray so I suppose they would know what you purchased for a start

with so much being sold unregulated in stores to the public it feels like a drop in the ocean.

Buy a few litre drums of roundup in woodies and keep the receipt, you don’t need a licence for that and it works in weed licker.

You can order all the spray you want across the border delivered to your door without using herd or spray licence. TheDandies would be one such site, I’ve been told.

You don't need to give your herd number.

Alot of places are selling without asking.

That requirement died a death & utterly impossible to impose. Nevermind bringing gdpr into it

three stores round here all recording herd numbers for spray and fertiliser.

One lad tried to tell me I needed to give herd number to buy milk replacer in the spring 🤣

oh grand. The local co op would be strict enough down here. I’m told you can buy in the North without a herd number? Maybe more shops down south sell without one too.

Without A herd number is the key.

A herd number that isn't checked if it actually exists or is yours

That Sprayer & Knapsack licence was the biggest load of BS they ever tried to introduce. And then you were expected to get your sprayer tested every couple of years. Laughable

Just buy whatever spray you need and take care spraying it.

    I did the knapsack course.
    some joke.

Still, if your caught it could be 10% fine on payments

You'd be surprised the amount of people that had/have no idea how to use a knapsack or tractor sprayer correctly prior to doing the course.
