Was on the DART tonight. The moon was stunning glistening off the water. Shame no decent camera as the trip was followed by a drive up the Wicklow Hills The moon was (is still) amazing.

Cloudy start to the morning. 10C. Felt chilly on the run this morning but going out first thing is a joy.

Brilliant, I was trying to capture that on my phone with disastrous results 😄

Damp misty morning in Cork, still very mild though, 20c. Should brighten up later.

Off topic but I read Joanna Donnelly's article on why she left Met Eireann in the SIndo.

She describes a fair amount of work related stress.

    Cloudy and warm in Laois.

Played 18 holes in warm drizzle. Not ideal and wasn't forecast.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Proper summer's day now. Lots of sunshine and any hint of coolness that was there last week has gone.

Horrible day in Wicklow today, disappointing after the lovely weather yesterday. Heavy cloud with a lot of humidity here all day and it's been persistently misting since this morning. The forecast was for a much better afternoon than we've had but it never cleared up.

Well off we popped to Skerries today, what a mistake, it was absolutely baltic!

When we went this morning cloudy here but not a bit of breeze so we thought perfect. We got there sun shining we thought great, we got out of the car and the wind was unreal. We nearly got hyperthermia eating our ice creams😃.

Thank god I had packed 50 layers in car(ha i didn't need to bother with swimming gear)so with kids wrapped up they had fun in rock pools and throwing in stones to sea. No one could believe how cold it was, so many people with coats and hoods up due to wind.

I'm sitting here in my back garden now in the calm and it feels like I'm in Spain in comparison to Skerries🤣.

Not sure if I'm in a small microclimate today after reading the above posts but it's a nice summer's day here in North Dublin, 22C with decent sunny spells. A nice return to summer this weekend after a more autumnal feeling week

Very dark all day in Wicklow Hills. Drizzle intermittently. Did manage a 90 minute walk between that drizzle. Warm though wore long sleeves.

Looking sunny in Croke Park. Up Galway.

Expecting big things tomorrow in this 24⁰ Will there be sunshine though.

We have been blessed with beautiful weather in Arklow for the past couple of weeks but today has been really wet and miserable. Still, can't really complain and the week ahead is forecast to be good with high temperatures.

Rather muggy today and looks like that's the way it will be for the next while so not looking forward to a muggy week ahead. But despite my own complaint about muggy weather it does look this August could be one of the better ones we've had in recent yrs not going to be one of those autumnal unsettled type August's. I'd rather keep autumnal weather till September not that I expect this coming autumn to be particularly autumnal as such. Above average month after above average month regarding temperatures...............

turned into a nice afternoon after a not so great morning.

The next 2 weeks however is looking very promising if you like warm and humid weather. August could end up being the warmest month of the summer.

Really noticed the high humidity in the last couple of hours. Feeling much warmer now compared to this morning.

Looking forward to a warm, muggy week ahead. The fan will be put to use again. Be great to get some night time thunderstorms with the heat and instability. No doubt it will probably be just during the day though. I’d love some organised thunderstorms pushing up from the Bay Of Biscay, something akin to August 2000.

Wow that's gas . Same here just beginning to cloud over but very warm and calm sitting out .

We were down the seafront earlier and there was a bit of a strong breeze coming from South East direction but it wasn't as strong as yesterday and not cold once the sun out .

Looking forward to some real heat now over the next couple of days 🤞

Was out early this morning for sunrise at the coast, came without a hood or jacket and wasn't expecting it to feel that cold. Big mistake. Though at the very least it wasn't blowing a hoolie.

Looks like it'll be warm but the cloud isn't going away for Dublin anyway in the next few days

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,497 ✭✭✭pad199207

That’s okay, it will be warm that’s the main thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,763 ✭✭✭pauldry
