Quit Facebook over 10 years ago and Twitter after Musk took over and it devolved into a cesspit. I'm on Instagram, but mostly for my wife's benefit, and I don't really use it.

Will have to find something else to do.

Regarding Left and Right I think Thomas Sowell summed it up well:

I've enjoyed my time here and hope it can carry on.

There have been times the going got heavy but there was usually an interesting chat to be had.

It has it's faults but the alternatives are a lot worse.

It doesn't really matter what platform individuals look to find as a replacement for boards.

I say many already have already alternatives in use already.

It is the sense of community that groups have found in there niche groups on topics of common interest here on Boards that people are a risk of losing. And I guess these groups may already have agree on alternative platforms long ago. Feel sorry for groups only now doing so.

I'm pretty selective about what content I consume and even in the years of use of boards, their is plenty of sub forums that I have never even dipped my toes in to even read.

I use a variety of platforms for varied and different reasons. So there is not one specific place I go for everything I need.

Recently I applied for a passport, and want to find out the process and how long it could take. I didn't even think of looking on boards for the info. Just checked and search didn't provided any latest info. (Didn't try hard to find it).

I found a group on FB, that had the answers I need. Joined and had some conversations in it. Passport arrived and since I had no need to be knowing others issues with the process, I only got around in the last week or so to un join it, there was plenty of people providing support in the group. So no need for me.

As I said, selective about what content I consume, I am on reddit, and since the topic of Interested I wanted to talk about was frowned upon here. I started actively participating in a subreddit and have been tagged as top contributor on a few occasions. Also ended up creating my own sub for a reason. Which comes in handy, because no mods over me to restrict what I post except reddit rules it self. Kind of also use as a public bookmark for some related posts.

I could say more but it is getting long winded post for people's attention span? If people want to reach out to me in the event boards, shuts down. I am varily public about the platforms I am on most now.

Exactly this. I could go to Digital Spy (am a member on there longer than I was on Boards!) but it’s UK-based and doesn’t have the same appeal.

@jj880 Interesting forum option, send myself a whatsapp bookmark link to see if it catches traffic or users! Looks better than another .ie forum that doesn't have a privacy policy the last time I looked.
