I note you say: “(you can turn off the eye tracking in the settings) Yes, you can, but it resets back on every time you restart”, but the Owner Manual states:

“With the vehicle on, select or deselect Settings > Vehicle > Driver assistance > DAW (Driver Attention Warning) > Forward attention warning in the infotainment system to set whether to use the function.
If Forward attention warning is enabled, the function warns the driver when the driver's gaze is not focused on the road.
Information
When the vehicle is restarted, Forward Attention Warning maintains the last setting” i.e. if the feature has been ‘switched off’ then it will remain off…

Reader Note:

Hyundai’s terminology is a bit confusing. “Forward Attention Warning (FAW)” - what we are talking about here - is a feature within the “Driver Attention Warning (DAW)” set of features, and (FAW) can be enabled/disabled from the Infotainment submenu leaving the other DAW features unaffected 🙂

The Forward Attention Warning resets every restart

anyone use it with a buggy and car seat for a toddler for dropping them off to crèche, picking them up, short trips etc.? We have a Kia Rio as a second “city car” and half the buggy goes in the boot and the other half on the spare back seat and wondering if this works out as around the same scenario? I know it’s a lot more nimble in what you can do with the back seats.

I have a car seat in situ for baby now 6 mths. But can fit the wheels section of the pram in the boot and the carry cot section of same beside the car seat with the empty seat folded down. I also have a smaller buggy and that fits neatly in the boot. I have the cream interior so I put a shopping bag over the ends of buggy when folded as other wise the wheels would dirty the boot.

Just to add that I got the Elegance model and that has the folding seats option. the rear seats also have tilt back and can move back/forth a few inches to give more leg room to passengers. I love this car but also loved my previous Honda Jazz for the versatility of its rear seat options.

Forgive my ignorance, what do this things do? You plug one in to the little USB slot on the passenger side and connect your phone to it is it? And the Inster dashboard will recognise it at let you use features from your phone (e.g. maps or Spotify)?

Neat. While I do appreciate that I can connect my phone to make/take calls, and I can play music from my phone… I've no way of navigating the music library in Spotify without interacting directly with my phone. This could be handy.

does anyone know backwards compatibility for older smartphone models/iOS and CarPlay/Android operation?

Same question re wireless charging - new models will presumably all be fine, but older ones…? (I understand overheating +damage can result 😮)

just thinking about this, wired connection always gives the best sound (so it’s not a ‘bad thing’) because the Hyundai Infotainment system receives the original digital music data stream through the wired connection (just like a CD player), but a wireless Bluetooth (BT) dongle can only send compressed analogue audio - so the quality will be compromised depending on the quality of the digital to analogue converter (DAC) fitted AND the BT ‘protocol’ standard used in the dongle (the latest v5+ BT standards have the best fidelity) AS WELL AS whatever BT standard is fitted to the Inster (the BT standard used will be the lower of the dongle and the Inster)

I will be using the WiFi dongle for texts, emails etc… as CarPlay is a mirror of your phone screen.

The dongle used is 5.3 standard same as the Inster. I don’t use Spotify only YouTube Music or Plexamp or Bookshelf for audiobooks.

Fits really well.

I've never seen the active flaps open on our Signature Inster (got it since June).

Our Ioniq 5 opens/closes it all the time - like when AC is ON or charging the 12V battery or some days every 20 mins or so.

I wonder if there are other ppl with the same - constantly closed flaps behavior on their Inster.
