The net cost thing while real for us, for the majority of folks across boards it’s not a thing and €50 was too steep an ask in my mind. The majority of folks are stretched with cost of living at the moment.

There are alternatives out there at no cost and transitioning to them will be less painful than the move to the current hosting that nearly destroyed this forum.

Ah stop. It’s peanuts and you either value the place or don’t.

And there are a 1000s of other self employed on boards that could also expense it (people in tech, construction, business etc).

The very same could be said of Farmers Journal subscription? and a portion of it can be claimed against tax

Arguably my farm gains more knowledge from this farming forum than it does from the Farmers Journal

Can't see how a forum subscription would be any different, but then again I'm not an accountant either.
TBH I'm not sure I could be still farming without sources of information like this, so I think it is Indispensable.

HHands Up here who has had an audit. I am farming over 20 years a d I never had one..…knock.on wood. I woukd be changing my accountant.

Pass away. I am with FDC both the Rag ( which I no longer buy) and Tuesday's Independent are tax deductible according to them.

When I worked with IFAC over 30 years ago both the Rag and Tuesday's Independent were always tax deductible….
