A big lump of money says Sarah. Sounds like a single RTE Salary thinks I.

Ah poor Olly! Not making a profit! Maybe register as a charity???

'this is not to do with profit' - Ollie

I almost spat out my lobster after hearing that

Sarah, please ask Olly what he’s driving, how many bedrooms in his house and how many holidays and trips away he takes per year?

"briefly yeah" says Sarah trying to cut caller off. That would never happen with Joe

I bet Olly is paying his staff peanuts as well!

I am enjoying Sarah so far to be honest. I wonder would she have an interest in the job. I suppose it is very secure job security, and favorable work hours. The previous host seemed to get plenty of trips to the chateau during the year too

Yes, she’s doing a great job out of the gate.

I really like Sarah for the job, she's not afraid to call people out, like that guy crying poverty over child care supplements and her telling him and us how much he's receiving(gives Temu Vincent Brown vibes) My only concern is, is she too good a journalist for this role?

    What colour is the bus?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 11,285 Mod ✭✭✭✭squonk

There’s no doubt she’s too good a journalist for this role. My big concern is that if she gets it it’ll destroy her talent. Joe was a buffoon but had drive and some talent at one point. Look at the last few years of Liveline. A v man phoning it in daily and that’s when he could be bothered turning up. No deep mental gymnastics and acting like a big ego all the time. Sarah is only 44. I’d hate to see her start slacking off.

was that ad to warn us away from her 'comedy' show ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 829 ✭✭✭Dublin Calling

She is in her 40s. Would she be too young to remember the days of the great Marion Finucan and Uncle Gaybo?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 11,285 Mod ✭✭✭✭squonk

Ah Sarah, stop with the facts and figures! That’s too professional! Can you ask the caller what colour is John and is he cast down? Also ask the caller about their pain. Would they cry?

She could also bring Liveline back to it's glory days of actually making a difference for the people on the street. We slag joe off all the time, but there is no doubt he did make a difference at times and it was a program that members of government tuned into, before it just became a place to rant and ramble on about dog sh!t outside your garden twice this week by some mysterious ghost dog.

how far did he say he was driving to be spending '€150-€160' per week on diesel ?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 11,285 Mod ✭✭✭✭squonk

Liveline feels relevant again with Sarah at the helm. She’s head and shoulders above the other candidates so far.

You might need a commode before the issue will be sorted.

Give the seagull an ounce of lead caller. That’ll sort it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 23,081 ✭✭✭✭2smiggy

the deer sanctuary could not help with an injured sea gull

Feeding him chips from the local Ballyer chipper may have the same end effect.
