    Happy Autumn all!

Both my kids are August babies so it'll be a busy month here!

I booked a new Halloween event that's happening in Newbridge House...hopefully it'll be good! Feel like I'll blink and it'll be Halloween 😄

Hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday weekend 🙂

The earlier dates should be easy to get I reckon

    Here's hoping

Aiming for Opening night (which will be a ticket race), mainly because its early-mid December so flights and hotels wont be overly expensive. The later in December the prices go up like in a rocket all around London

Don't know if it's because I had a stressful few days in work, or had a few crap night's sleep, or I had few beers on Friday night, or I think I have a cold or the sniffles coming on, or it feels the evenings are getting shorter, or if it felt a bit cold this evening, but it definitely felt wintery this evening??

Evenings definitely getting shorter. I’ve noticed it on my walks.

Definitely a bit darker the last few days, and a bit cooler last night- hope everyone survived storm Floris!

We were only talking about the fact we bought an L- shaped couch about ten years ago and we might get a new one next year. The one thing we both said was that we are definitely going back to a normal couch and what we are most looking forward is being able to put the Christmas tree in the bay window if we want again. 🎄

Did anyone do Jingle Fest in Tayto Park last year? We ended up being too late for tickets but we really enjoyed it the previous year but I think it was slightly different

By the end of the month we'll have lost an hour of sunlight. Which is crazy tbh

There’s a donate now option to keep boards alive without having to do the subscription route. 90 days apparently is all the auld girl has left if it doesn’t hit its target and it’s currently only at 30%

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,677 ✭✭✭SCOOP 64

God thought we would have more them 30% at this stage.

Wow, that is not looking good at all. Was happy to pay the 6 month sub but if the numbers don't add up then it looks like we will be definitely looking for a new home.

Loughc has already gone sale agreed on a new place, so fear not; there's a refuge for us if we need it. He's even picked out a spot for the tree.🎄

That makes me sad, but also annoyed as the site was run into the ground by the higher ups. They are asking people to put their hands in their pockets as the site continues to jump up and down like a faulty lift.

The move to vanilla was the end if we are being honest.

Ok guys 89 days to go.

Let’s get packing. All glass ornaments in bubble wrap please.

if anyone knows of a way to extract some of the classic threads here that would be amazing. Some classic ones we would love to keep even offline. The Christmas Eve one springs to mind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 2,653 ✭✭✭CheerLouth

Definitely the Christmas Eve one & @DvBs Christmas Adverts - I don't really get the time at Christmas to fully enjoy it, I often hop back into it during the year to get a little 2 minute fix from an ad

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,625 ✭✭✭antimatterx

2K was always ambitious. The nearly 600 they have is way more than I expected.

They're not doing a great job at raising awareness either. The banner doesn't appear on desktop homepage, they could have done an email campaign or looked into other funding sources alongside ads / subs.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 27,971 Mod ✭✭✭✭Posy

The DDoS attack back in 2016 lost Boards a lot of users, and the move to Vanilla was the real death knell.

Yes, if anyone techy can work out how to save some of the old threads, that would be amazing.

We're not giving up on Boards just yet, but it's wise to have the bags packed, a full tank of petrol in the car and our phones fully charged so we're ready to evacuate should the need arise.

Corporate Sponsorship could be an avenue as well. Anyway I'm sure the guys in HQ have exhausted alot of options at this stage and time isn't on their side anymore.

I'm not as optimistic… I'm currently in the car with the ignition on, hand break down and on the biting point…. 😂
