We also now have the justified reputation of being one of the most antisemitic countries in the world.

    This is a ridiculous claim.

    ridiculous claim

Not only is it a ridiculous claim, it's an outright lie.

I think they have a group of simpletons in a whatsapp group deciding whos day it's to post pro isreali shite

How is it impractical? In most cases the rightful Palestinian owners have the keys to the door and deeds for the land. It was only 80 years ago, the colonisers can just return to Ukraine, Poland or Brooklyn. It might be a bit messy and you might have to kill a few in the process, but hey, easy come easy go.

Brooklyn was promised to them 3000 years ago !!

The 'Hamas should surrender' thing from the Zionist disciples is a bit baffling, especially as it is a political party / organisation with a military wing. Given that the military wing is an ad hoc militant resistance group, it would be nigh on impossible for them to 'surrender' to anyone…..even Hamas themselves are far from sure how many members they have or who exactly is in it, never mind anyone looking in from the outside.

You're using that as an analogy? Good grief.

Go read up on how the ICJ works before you embarrass yourself further.

Sheepy you just need a bit of faith and we can overcome the logistics and moral issues on this matter. What would have happened if Theodor Herzl had taken your defeatist attitude only 128 years ago. If he had listended to the naysayers who said transporting a group of Eastern European religious fanatics to the Middle East and taking someone elses land would be a recipe for disaster then where would we be?

hmm - this was pretty demonstrative. You even read the definition and stated your case. So nice try, but definitely not an opinion as posted but glad you've now cleared that up.

I can equally saw that what is happening in Gaza is not, because it doesn't meet the legal definition.

What? Are you serious? Were goalposts moved to validate a point/post. I'm shocked and stunned

There isn't a town or village in Ireland that's the same as it was 75 years ago.

The amount of change in Israel would be even more pronounced.

This auld BS about still having the keys to a little house on the hill is nonsense. It's all long since gone. That's just the reality of it.

Reputation among who? A group of pro genocide Zionists engaged in a concerted Hasbara smear campaign.

Genocide. Zionist. Hasbara. You recite this stuff like your saying Hail Mary's.

1948 is too long ago but 2000 years ago is just fine and dandy.

There were plenty of Jews in Palestine in 1948 and every single year before that all the way back to the Romans and beyond.

Some people just have trouble addmitting it.

This is comical. The Jewish population of what would become Palestine in 1850 was about 13k or about 3% of the population. That is a very strange definition of plenty. The Jewish Population of Palestine did not outnumbe the Christian population until the post WW1 influx of European Zionists.

If Jews being in Palestine all the time is justification, surely the fact there has been Arabs in Israel all the time would justify them returning to take their lands as well. I mean fair is fair in the land of pretzel logic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,182 ✭✭✭SafeSurfer

You are not going to define “plenty” are you.

There are twice as many black people living in Ireland as there were Jews living in Palestine in the early 20th century.
I’m sure all the Zionist shills would be just fine with giving black Irish a new country on the island of Ireland.

Ah, I hear you, but then again, it begs the question of who represents, to concur with another poster, perhaps Fatah should effectively take control

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 716 ✭✭✭Lawlesz

I gave up too. The same poster accused me last night of justifying Hamas holding the hostages. Even quoted a section of my post and ignored the next paragraph that clearly called what Hamas are doing war crimes. When I replied with the entirety of my post… radio silence. No reply and off to misquote you for today. The pay must be good…

Gaza is a teddy bears picnic compared to WWII.

This is absolutely shameful. One of the most distasteful posts in the whole thread and that’s saying something. 60,000 dead and millions starving and you think “teddy bears picnic” is an apt analogy? Maybe those two little girls would have a different opinion on what a teddy bears picnic is.

You’re either being deliberately inflammatory in how you choose to word things looking for a bite or you actually just don’t care.

I noticed that choice of language too. It's bad enough that he casually dismisses human rights abuses as par for the course in his posts but he seems to deliberately engage in trivialising the suffering of Palestinians. He established previously that all of this is ok though, if I recall correctly he moved to the US years ago and knows lots of Jewish people so apparently bigotry is ok.

Two interesting news items from Haaretz:

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a far-right firebrand in the U.S. Congress, has called Israel's war in Gaza a genocide for the second time this week, a rare label within her caucus.

Slovenia said it would ban all weapons trade with Israel over the war in Gaza, in what it said was a first by a member of the European Union.

    Another hard-hitting opinion piece:

"Israel's diplomatic conduct in recent months, which has turned the country into a pariah, almost a rogue state, is the product of nearly Olympian-level charlatanism – a fatal mix of denial, whining, arrogance and self-justification – leading to the edge of the abyss.

It's the easiest thing in the world to accuse Britain and France of being dragged by left-wing parliaments and their Muslim populations (in contrast to an Israeli prime minister who ignores the settler and nationalist base that's keeping him in power)."

So it seems that Israelis are now fully aware that the tide is turning against them for the actions of its out-of-control Govt.

"Israel, which was garnered considerable international sympathy after the massacre, and set out to attack Hamas from a clear sense of the justice of its cause, has completely lost direction – and has also lost international understanding along the way.

This week's crop of developments is a cautionary tale:

    France, Britain and Canada announced support for the establishment of a Palestinian state;

    27 Democratic senators voted for a bill that would prevent arms sales to Israel (70 senators voted against, but the number of supporters was unprecedented);

and the European Union is talking about suspending Israel from the agreement that enables its citizens to enter EU countries without a visa."

Just saw this on another website -

''Israel's top human rights organisations have now declared that Israel is committing Genocide.

In a 70+page report, Physicians for Human Rights and BTsalem accused Israel of trying to eradicate Palestinian society.

Israelis are telling us that this is a Genocide.

Jews are telling us that this is a Genocide.

It is time to stop calling this a '' Humanitarian Crises''.

Call it what it is: A GENOCIDE.''

Editor of The Times of Israel called the regime a rogue state this week as well.
